He was very kind and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, as I suspected, it was a replacement. Jeff the project called and we walked through our options and price with him. He was low pressure and very understanding. We decided after our research to schedule a replacement for Sunday morning. Les and Brandon arrived on time and were very nice and worked quickly. "I had an issue with the initial technician, so I called and asked to speak to a services manager. The manager promptly returned my call, and arranged for another technician to come to my house. The second technician ("handlebar Chuck) was awesome! The customer services was EXCELLENT!!! "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"The repairs were more difficult than I expected and it was much more expensive than I expected.  They did the best they could and were very prompt, but they definitely had some issues in fixing the unit.  They had to come out four separate times, and I think they possibly replaced more parts than needed.  It took them about a week or more.  They were the only one in the immediate area that would do the work.  However, everything has held up since they came out to do the repairs and I would consider using them again."
