"My neighbor and I share a furnace room. A couple of days ago, Kevin from Genove was doing her annual service and noticed that the boiler for my baseboard heating had a slow leak. He shut it off so that it wouldn't flood our basement and notified me of the problem, explaining it in detail so I could tell my oil company what was wrong when I called them for emergency service. Thanks to Kevin noticing a problem in equipment he wasn't servicing, we avoided major damage."

"Never having had to hire someone to fix my AC unit only to install it (and the company was not reputable), I had serious trust issues. Action was the only one to contact me of all the suggested companies. That made me even more suspicious! They were able to fit me in for the next day. Hmm, more hesitation. But I rested in Action's good reviews on HomeAdvisor and kept the appointment. I was so happy I did. Mike was fantastic. He was personable and extremely informative. He knows his AC and heat pumps really well. I look forward to having them back in a couple of weeks to clean my furnace and do some cleaning and troubleshooting on a Hearthstone gas fireplace. When one finds a company one can trust, well, stick with them and get what needs to be done, done. I am so happy to have done something so out of my nature, like trusting HomeAdvisor. Thank you, Action Plumbing, Heating, and Airconditioning!"

"We have been a Palmer customer for 6 years. The front office and the technicians has always been great to work with. We have been using their AC and Heating Service Plan and on automatic oil and propane fill for years and we have never had an issue. My most recent experience was today for the AC Service Plan. The technician (David) was very polite, experienced, knowledgeable and respectful of our time and home. It’s always a great experience to have maintenance conducted in you home and have the technicians give you expert advice on your heating and AC system. Our AC system is well over 25 years old and still running strong thanks to Palmer. I continue to be impressed with Palmer and will remain a customer for the foreseeable future!"

"He was timely, professional and responsive. He clearly knows the technical aspects of the trade and provided us with a lot of information about the equipment he would be installing and how it would work with our existing ductwork.  We did not care for his sales approach because he tried to sell us on things we did not ask for and did not need.  He tried to sell us on a humidifier for the system which we really don't need because we live right by the ocean where it is quite humid year round, even in the winter. Adding humidity to our house could cause problems with mildew or mold.   He also tried to sell us on replacing our hot water tank for a more efficient model even though ours is only 5 years old.  We got the feeling that he was trying to pack as much sales onto the heat loan program without really thinking about the customer's specific situation, and that put off me and my husband from wanting to work with him.  At the end of his sales presentation he decided on the spot he would give us an unspecified discount.  We did not like this high pressure sales tactic.  We had not received other quotes yet so we declined to decide on the spot.  He emailed us a couple days later offering a 10% discount if we decided by a certain date a couple days later.  We decided to wait beyond that date so we could get more bids.
Joe's quote was $2000 higher than a quote from another installer who has equally good reviews on Angies list.  Both quotes were to install the same equipment, however the second installer included the cost of converting two unused ducts into returns and installing a pass though in a ceiling to help balance our system.  I shared this information with Joe, and he responded by saying he would beat their price by $100.  It goes to show that it pays to shop around.
As Airco's good reviews on Angies list attest and my interactions with him, I am sure they would do quality work, but my husband and I were totally put off by his sales and pricing approach and did not want to work with the company as a result.

"Jeff came to my office to service the heating unit. Years past prior techs came and left in 15 mins. Jeff showed me the old filter and new filter in place. The unit is above a suspended ceiling and took an effort to access. Honestly don't think any prior tech even opened the unit. He did a great job. Hired him for job at my house and my in laws place. He is my go to guy for all HVAC."

"Atlantic Heating & Air Conditioning responded professionally and quickly to my call. A service technician diagnosed the problem and ordered the a new gas valve and two sensors. A second technician, replaced the defective parts and serviced the boiler. Both technicians performed their work in a very professional manner, identified the source of the problem and clearly explained what was needed. I was impressed with their work and would definitely hire them again."

"Our gas-fired boiler was acting up the day before Labor Day. Rowell&Services sent a technician the following Tuesday. He worked for several hours, but could not get it going properly. He explained what he was doing. We decided to have Rowell&Services install a new boiler instead of trying to repair the old one. Rowell Services technicians installed the new boiler the following Monday. One week for a non-trivial job! The technicians texted 30 minutes before arriving. Spot on. They were extremely courteous. They worked neatly, efficiently, and with good humor. We are more than satisfied. Rowell& Services become our go toservice company."

"Excellent communication from Keith; outstanding service from Roger. Professional, timely, and reasonably priced. They came in under estimate on my boiler repair and advised that a second bit of work that had previously been discussed was not going to be necessary. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them!"

"Kyle did a great job servicing my heat system. Brought out parts that needed to be replaced before our heat was turned on. Labor price was less than I expected and comparable to others I have used in the past. Would definitely recommend him."

"Totally impressed ! First time customer. I woke up with my garage ceiling acting like a rain cloud. Water coming down,! Went on computer looking for plumber in my area, Who's available and has more than 3 stars ! Called several but no luck in getting thru. or making contact. I found Proactive thru Home Advisor. Start with their customer service -very professional & courteous,. Service manager responded in short time in making adjustments to one of the service tech's route schedule. Service Tech -Gary was a great guy, great tech in knowing within 1-2 minutes exactly where my problem was and he did a cost sheet before he started & completed any work. Our problem is now solved and we now have no need to look any further when we have a plumbing problem -call "Proactive Comfort" , you will never regret it -they will be your 5 star plumber too ! Take Care, Larry L. Weare,N.H."
