"Oh my, how did it go? John Plenner from Aqua Pure Water Systems came to the house and as I was showing him the infamous 'water room', he inquired as to the installer of the system and showed surprise at how outdated and complicated it was. He did the free water testing and basically told me chlorine and soda ash pumps weren't his forte, but that maybe his company could help us out. Meanwhile, he explained the way the Kinetico water softener system operates, how it is more in line with an updated water system and what we would have in the 'water room' if a new system would be chosen. A LOT MORE ROOM...just for starters. Let me add here that John wasn't doing a hard sell...He was allowing us to make a choice. Keep what we had...they would help as they could, or consider going down a much easier path. So I make the phone call to my husband, knowing that he would probably say, "NO!" He had just redone plumbing in the 'water room'. Known the guy for 10 years...still don't have him figured. A resounding, "YES!" TEARS OF JOY...you have no idea. Immediately a date is set for the new installation. The following week, two very nice gentlemen came to the house to remove one nightmare and put in place one honey of a water system. They were tidy...no mess after they left. Means so much to a homeowner. When they left...they left a separate spigot by my normal kitchen spigot that dispenses purified water. That meant drilling through granite (beautiful job!). They left me a water line to the refrigerator/freezer that dispenses purified water and ice cubes that are frozen purified water. Up until that point, I questioned why we even bought a fridge that dispensed water! Talk about great water! No aftertaste and beautiful to behold. Again...TEARS OF JOY! You have no idea what a relief it is, what a comfort it is, to know that when it is time to sell the house, that I can take folks into the water room and explain the beauty and simplicity of this system. And to tell them what wonderful people are at Aqua Pure Water Systems if they should ever have questions or need help with their equipment. I always wondered what it would be like to show people that awful room with ALL THAT AWFUL STUFF in it related to the water in the house that no one would want to drink or to wash their clothing. "Proposal was developed after a review of the job in the field. Committed to do the work in a short period of time. This involved scaffolding to the second floor.  Exterior of gutters were cleaned, shutters removed/repainted/remounted, porch re-grouted in the worst places and reattached missing bricks. Cleaned sidewalk. Repaired area in eave that the porr squirrels had chewed up when they got hungry. Surface prepped all areas to be painted, including metal vent housings. Replaced roof rubber seals around all sewer vents poking thru the roof of the 1st and 2nd floors. Did throrough cheanup after job completion. Re-worked leaking gutter on back of house over the deck.
This job was manned up adequately so work got completed within 3 weeks. In other words, the workers showed up and the the work done without dragging out the job or asking for change orders. Communications was great between us and the contractor thourhout the job process.
