"Kind thoughtful service. Work space was surprisingly very clean. All three guys were clearly efficient and moving quickly but also very diligent in their work so you knew no mistakes were occurring for the sake of speed. My two little boys were constantly under foot but all the guys would give smiles and gently move around them or let them by (which they didn’t need to do!) and did nothing to compromise safety. Loved their attitudes their work ethic and patience. It was noted one was on his first day, which was hard to believe. Never a harsh word spoken or questionable quality. Loved this crew and our new windows!"

"Overall went very smooth. Becky, Andy and Andy Jr. worked with us to install on separate days to accommodate our tenants in our building. They also had to make accommodations to work at the same time as a paving crew was working. we almost didn't know they were here. No disruptions to the work going on in the building. Saved us allot of money over complete window replacement. Fantastic end result."

"They did an wonderful job. I thought they were reasonable. They weren't cheap, and they weren't expensive. They are very nice. They were very busy, and couldn't get out right away. They did keep contact with me. They were fine. They helped with the decision making process on what I wanted on those windows. They gave me a lot of good information. There were three workers. Not all together at times. The workers were good. I used them twice with the same set of windows. I finally got the patio shades window."

"Tyler, Gumby?, Andrew and Jake showed up on time and worked very well together as a team. They were quiet, moved quickly and finished my windows inside and out in 3 hours. Tyler said it would have been 6 hours with 2 workers. They are so clean that it almost looks as though there is no glass at all! They told me about a couple of windows with sticking issues so i can get those fixed. I have a 1932 build home with combination windows. The only thing that I question, is f wiping down screens with a wet cloth is enough to keep the dirt from transferring onto the windows when it rains. In the past, the screens are actually removed and washed with Dawn and water. I am afraid of heights so these guys really helped me out. Stellar performance!! Thank you."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Cottage Grove, MN

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
