"Need a fence repaired / renewed call Wayne Askew Contracting Inc. Replaced our 6' fencing with a "Good Neighbors" fence on the west side and a privacy fence on the back side. Also two new gates. Later, had them replace our 4' picket fencing. Closing in the backyard with new fencing. Also, reinstalled two Iron gates and repainted them within the 4' fencing. Also done work on our patio and painting in our kitchen. When you need something done call Wayne."

"This company was very professional.  We had four estimates completed for our project and this was the second best.  Their price was slightly higher than the company that we chose.  When they called to follow-up, they did offer to match the price of the window installation if we also did the siding but we had already signed a contract with the selected provider.  While we did not select themf for our current project, we would consider using this company in the future.

TJM Construction was contact based on the recommendation of a friend. Another contractor had been originally commissioned to partially remodel two bathrooms, however, once it became apparent that this contractor (See Eastern Shore Floor Covering and Design) could not deliver a quality installation in a timely manner, it was decided to have this work completed by a professional contractor.

Todd Moran made a site visit and carefully evaluated the condition of the work site and the work which would be needed to be completed. He worked closely with the home owners to be sure that he clearly understood the owner’s expectations and what work was to included. A written quoted was provided which fully detailed the cost and materials to be provided by Mr. Moran. A list of additional material which were to be provided by the owners (lighting and plumbing fixtures, wall paint, etc..) was provided as well. A work schedule was outlined providing tentative start dates, durations of activities and estimated completion dates

Mr. Moran arrived as planned with all necessary manpower, tools and materials and worked every day, all day, until the work was completed. If Mr. Moran was delayed (i.e traffic, purchasing additional materials, etc…) he would contact the owners the day before or the morning of the delay and provide updates on why he was late and when he could be expected. Mr. Moran was continuously on-site and proved to be a working supervisor, actively working on the project while providing direct supervision of his craftsmen, insuring a high quality installation executed in an effective manner.

A great deal of effort was put into maintaining a clean and safe work place with debris removed site daily. At all times, the personnel of TJM Construction were respectful of the owners and their property and took exceptional care to minimize any damage to the household and grounds.

In addition to the work contracted, Mr. Moran took it upon himself to install several lighting fixtures throughout the house. The owners had purchased these items and planned installing themselves. Mr. Moran explained that they had experienced a slight lull in work that day and needed to keep his people busy. Mr. Moran did not expect or request any additional payment for this additional work.

TJM Construction is operated in a professional manner and provides a quality installation, in an effective affordable manner.

"I was told that it would take 4 hours for these repairs, however it took  at most 40 minutes but I was still charged the $400.00 dollars that I agreed to. Did get 10% off Senior Discount making the charge $360.00 The charge that I had agreed to was based on the 4 hrs
that I was told it would take - not 40 minutes or less."

"The concrete pad was finished the 1st week and allowed to dry through the weekend. The garage building was started the following Monday and completed on Friday. The guys started early each day and gave me exactly what I had requested. Their work was outstanding.

"WITHOUT EXCEPTION, Doug and his various subcontractors were courteous and professional, and the quality of their workmanship was outstanding. They went above and beyond what was asked and Doug kept a watchful eye on our budget. The finished job is absolutely beautiful! (Interestingly, before we hired Doug, we started doing a kitchen remodel using one of the "Big Box" stores. We had plenty of opportunity to regret that decision due to the inconsistent quality of their installers and huge time delays we experienced with THAT project. We wish we had hired Tierce for that job, as well.)
We were delighted with the experience working with Tierce Construction and will definitely call them back when we need additional work done.

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Dauphin Island, AL

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
