"They installed a minisplit cooling system, with 3 exchanges June 2021. Since then it is not operating the way it should. In my bedroom with the door closed at night on cool at 70 degrees the humidity goes up to 80%. I wake up uncomfortable, change it from cool to dry mode. The humidity will go down into the 50% range but the temperature drops down to 62 or less! So in cool or dry mode I can't get a good nights sleep! It was the best investment I could have made! Today their technician Troy came to conduct the preseason service on my air conditioner. My appointment was for 10am and Troy arrived promptly at 10am! During the course of the inspection, Troy discovered that the dual run capacitor was leaking oil. He showed me the part and suggested that it could be a problem down the road. Since the system is 18 years old, I wasn't surprised that there might be a worn part that would need to be replaced. Luckily, he had the part on hand and was able to do the repair right away. Because I had the service contract, I received a discount on the parts and labor which was greatly appreciated. I'm so glad that I called Alpine all those years ago. "This company will try to rip you off any chance they get. Scheduled non-emergent repair/service of my humidifier on their website. The tech was on time, professional, and cordial. I informed him the humidifier was not operating correctly and the water inlet valve may be stuck in the shut position. After 30 minutes he informed me the humidifier was running but the inlet valve was now leaking water onto my water heater and would need to be replaced. He proceeded to call the office to see if a plumber could come out and to get an estimate for the work. After 20 minutes they said one of their plumbers could come do the job for $600. I immediately said no thank you and informed them i would get an estimate somewhere else. They then said they could discount the work by $100. Making it $500 to replace a $30 valve. I informed the tech i would go with another company and thanked him. The tech then began writing up the invoice and informed me that he was told by the office to add on an $89 emer"
