"We had a little scheduling hiccup in the beginning, but got them to come out a little later that same day.  Nice couple guys came out and troubleshooted the problem, at the end they thought it might be the water heater, but weren't sure.  A year later I changed the water heater and the noise stopped.  They only charged me nominally since they could not put their finger on the cause.
