Customers say: Quick response

"Alvin responded to my request with in 1 min and Matt was at my house within an hour. This was to be a very quick 1 hour job that required snaking the drain in my kitchen sink. Unfortunately, it turned into a 4 hour job that required removing 10 feet of VERY clogged pipe and replacing it. All of the details were explained before they started the work and we were also given to options on how it could be repaired. The job was done beautifully and nothing in the house was damaged and the kitchen and basement were both left clean. I would use Alvin's Plumbing service again and I recommend you do the same."

"We had a little issue - did not ask a lot of questions or do a visual inspection before snaking our shower drain - turns out we should not have done that due to this drum trap we had. Long story short ending up breaking a pipe - but it was all so old we needed to get it replaced anyway. I had to fight for what I thought was right, but at the end of the day they took care of the price and the situation. Overall this company is probably too expensive for their quality of services, but they were very kind and worked hard to fix this situation."

"Great company! They came out when they said they were going to, the work was carried out smoothly and without issues. The installer was very polite and conscientious. The pricing was not inexpensive, but it rarely is for a licensed, bonded, insured company using professional grade materials (not the cheap big box store cabling). These guys did the work right and when you re dealing with something as dangerous as natural gas you can t afford a company that makes mistakes. All in all, my gas heater works wonders and I m very pleased with the work. For future work, they ll be on my short list of contractors to call. Thanks TMS!"

"Mike was great. He was early for our appointment and he went right to work finding the problem. He had to remove a part of the pipe and replaced it right away. Problem solved. Drain was draining perfectly. Everything was cleaned up and done in record time. We will definitely use them again as we are seniors and we live in an old home with old plumbing. Thank you for solving our problem."

"It's been about 3 months since our oil to gas conversion, and we are so pleased with how everything came together. The crew was prompt, professional, answered all of our questions, and did an awesome job installing all the new equipment. Even the cleanup crew that came did a great job and made sure not to damage anything while they were removing the old heavy tank and boiler. On top of the wonderful professionalism, they were also prompt to help us stay warm by providing us with oil up until our installation so that we did not have to negotiate partial fills with oil company. Our home was warm all winter, and we are so excited for the cost benefits from switching to gas. Thank you for helping us raise the value of our home!"

"I called Petey's Plumbing because of a water leak in a bathroom pipe and was very satisfied with the service I received. Peter and his assistant arrived at the scheduled appointment time and quickly identified the source of the water leak in the pipe. They explained the problem to me then worked quickly and efficiently to make the repair."

"We were very pleased with Nutmeg.  They did not charge anything because they tried to fix it in September, so this one was free of charge.  They installed a new gas boiler for us and when the heat would not come on a year later they did not know the reason. They replaced a part and thought it could have been an air bubble. They were good about trying to track the problem down."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Enfield, CT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
