"We had a leak in our water pipe. We first called Tom Drexler on October 16. They could not find the leak. After several service calls, they sent out Jeremy on November 18.. He put a temporary clamp on the pipe to stop the leak and came back four days later to replace the pipe. He was very knowledgeable and professional and got the job done. Thank you Jeremy U. He got the job done!"

"Ronnie has done work for us several times.  He has run a new line for a pool, replaced soft copper gas lines in our basement, installed proper shutoffs for fireplaces and most recently installed a dryer gas line.  The workers are great: prompt, courteous, pleasant and neat. I am always pleased with how quickly they complete a job. <br />"

"They first tried to replace the thermo coupler in my current water heater. They ordered a part over night. That didn't do the trick. So they expedited getting a new water and installing it the next day. I was very pleased with the quality of service. I will use them as my plumber from now on. <br />"

"Overall Jarboes did a nice job. The two guys that came to the house were extremely nice and hardworking guys. They did exactly what they advertised - cleared a blocked main drain. They sent a camera down the pipe to show the roots causing the issue. My only concern with the visit is that, as expected, the $93 is a loss leader for them. The only solution to the root problem that they suggested was a total line replacement for $13,000. I asked about alternatives like some of the marketed chemicals and they said it will not work. I just feel it was somewhat incomplete advice. Many people have documented great success with copper sulfate as well as regular pipe cleanings. Sure - a new pipe will resolve the problem but I think you have to explore alternatives when the price for the perfect solution is so steep. My advice to Jarboe's - be more helpful to your customers and prove you are not just there to upsell to a Lexus solution. I would have spent the $350 for the pipe cleaning and even signed a service contract with you to do this every spring if you had just offered alternatives. Honesty and full disclosure will make you a better company."

"eThe technician arrived late due to traffic issues but cannot be blamed for that. He was very thorough with the check, cleaned contacts to make sure the furnace would fire correctly (possible carbon build-up on contacts), Cleaned the inside of the furnace (where the gas flames come out) and made sure the furnace would work correctly. Then he performed a temperature check to verify the differential between the plenum and the return air to be sure it was within the correct range. <br /> I was impressed with his professionalism and will have him come out again to perform the same check on the AC when we are closer to spring. He was very nice and took time to answer all my questions so I would understand the process and the expected result. <br />"

"<p>Kudos to 2 local companies. We had a leak in the inbound water supply line to our house. I used American Leak Detection, 502-538-9373, to locate the leak ($350) and considering it was 3' underground I was impressed and felt that was reasonable. They pump in a helium like gas and use a sniffer to find the leak and they were right on the money locating it. With my son's help I dug the hole down to the joint that was leaking which saved me considerable cost vs the plumber digging it. I then called Norton & Associates Plumbing, 812-948-8828, to come out to fix it. I felt their charges of $155 were very reasonable. I chose Norton as they were one of the top rated plumbers in the area on Angie's list. They deserve their A rating.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fairfield, KY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
