"Team Enoch did excellent work and service in replacing my water heater. Very quick in responding and provided same day service. Juan did an excellent job and was very complete and thorough with the installation. Did a wonderful job insulating the pipes, reconfiguring the pipes and putting in a drain pipe for the pan. After completion, he explained about the water heater, temperature settings and the pilot and answered all my questions. Great work and service!! Highly recommended!!"

"The gentleman did an okay job at flushing my water heater , however he spilled water in my attic which then leaked over my bathroom and tried to convince me it rained and my roof was leaking. At the end, he hired some guys to replace the ceiling in the bathroom at the company expense."

"We called Budget Home Services after our old water heater gave out. The technicians were able to come out that afternoon. I asked for three estimates: to fix the one we have, to get a new high-efficiency storage water heater and to get a new tankless water heater that I've seen advertised. I liked the fact that they did not make me feel pressured into the most expensive option; they answered what questions I had and after reviewing the estimates with my husband, we decided to replace it with a newer storage heater and made the appointment for that next week. A couple days later I was doing research on Energy Star-rated products and wanted to make sure the heater we were having installed that next week carried this rating. I called the office and spoke to the office manager, who changed our order and gave me the new estimate with the rated appliance. Replacing a water heater in an attic is back-breaking work; potential clients should not be surprised at the huge difference in labor costs if their system is up there as opposed to the first floor. I believe the difference on the final costs was as much as $400 from what one of the technicians told me. Everything that day went according to plan; the only surprise was the good kind. The original estimate listed a heater with a six-year warranty and the change to the "Energy Star-rated" (the quotations will be explained in a second) heater carried an eight-year warranty. A few days later I sat down at my computer to type my Angie's List review of this company, estimates and bills beside me for documentation. I don't know what made me do it, but I went to the energy star government website to confirm the model number of our new heater was on the master list. And, it wasn't. Our new water heater was going to end up costing us about $120 over the life of the warranty. I wrote Budget Home Services a letter, telling them about what happened along with all sorts of proof and requesting a reimbursement of this extra cost out of our pocket. Because they are a small local business I did not want to be demanding and ask for a new system to be installed, but I saw it as only fair that we be reimbursed. The manager Brett Davis could not have been nicer and more professional when he called us back just days later. Turns out the information they get from this particular manufacturer had not been updated and after doing all my research, I could see where this could be the case. They sent out the $120 check and I received it yesterday. I will definitely use them in the future for any of our plumbing needs."

FAQs for water heater repair or service projects in Fulshear, TX

Warning signs include fluctuating water temperatures, a pilot light that repeatedly goes out, unusual noises from the tank, or complete heating failure. You might also detect a rotten egg smell, indicating a potential gas leak, or notice water that never reaches the proper temperature. If your water heater is over eight years old and displaying these symptoms, the gas valve is a likely culprit. Professional inspection is recommended, especially if gas odors are present.

Water heater gas valves are not universally interchangeable. Each valve must match your specific water heater's make, model, and specifications. Important compatibility factors include gas type (natural gas vs. propane), BTU rating, connection types, and physical dimensions. Using an incorrect valve can result in poor performance, premature failure, or dangerous gas leaks. Always consult your water heater's documentation or a professional plumber to identify the appropriate replacement valve for your unit.
