Customers say: True professional

"After no success from another pool repair company, I got a recommendation to call Damion at Woods Pools. He was able to determine the problem quickly (clogged line) and was able to fix it in short order by using a compressor attached to the hose. I was SO happy that he was able to diagnose the issue so easily. I will definitely be calling him in the future when I need pool maintenance."

"We have relocated to the Carrollton area, Aquamaid has been servicing our pool for the last year. During that time they have been professional and always shows up ! Any situation, any issue there is always someone to help. Over the weekend our pressure was at "0" and in this heat you need circulation! The receptionist reached out to HAYLA the Area Supervisor to help us, She not only reached out but contacted the Branch Supervisor, BRANDON. When I went out late afternoon we had pressure and our pool was circulating, I never knew he had shown up and fixed our problem! This is going above and beyond, I can't say enough about the Aquamaid Gunter pool service.....did i mention Everyone is so friendly and will always to get the job done!!! GREAT JOB, GREAT TEAM!!! "We used 1st Rate Pool Service for several repairs when we were putting our house on the market.  During the course of the work we had the pleasure of getting to know James and several of his employees.  I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with James and his team.  They were honest, hard working, did great work and became like family.  After dealing with several vendors I would never deal with again during the course of putting the house on the market, I can tell my fellow Angie's List vendors this is a vendor you can trust and you most definitely should use.  The pool service might be a touch more expensive than other services but it was totally worth it.  Our pool never looked so good!

"No show, no call the day of appointment. Two days later we have 2 pool repair people at my home. They did a reasonable job replacing the pump moter, but just left wires, connecters and the moter and facing in the yard. Not the best of clean up."

"They've been working on my pool for about 4 to 5 weeks. The plan I have is $30.00 a week and I supply the chemicals. I have the option to pay for the chemicals with them via credit card and they would bring them out. They are taking good care of the pool as far as I can see."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters installation and replacement projects in Garland, TX

Yes, you can add a heater to an existing pool. A pro can retrofit a heater to nearly any in-ground or above-ground pool. Adding a heater allows you to start the swim season earlier, finish it later, and maintain a steady water temperature in between. Many owners schedule the job during a larger pool upgrade, but it also works as a standalone project. Professional installation ties the new unit into the existing pump and plumbing for safe, efficient operation.

Most owners switch the heater on a day or two before they plan to swim, then shut it down afterward. Reaching the target temperature can take 24 to 72 hours, depending on pool size and outdoor conditions. Using a cover while the heater is off helps hold the heat and keeps energy costs in check.

Pool heaters can freeze if left exposed to extreme conditions. Freezing can damage internal heater components, potentially leading to costly pool repairs. Cycling water, covering the heater, and regular maintenance help prevent freezing. Sealing or winterizing your heater also protects it during the season—this involves draining water from the heater and its components.

Pool heaters operate with lifespans spanning from seven to 30 years. Gas and propane models last seven to 12 years, while electric and solar heaters perform efficiently for up to 30 years. Consistent professional maintenance and routine inspections extend the heater’s life and improve its performance, ensuring a safe and reliable heating system for your pool.

Before hiring a pool heater installation contractor, conduct thorough research by reviewing online feedback and gathering recommendations from trusted sources. Contact multiple professionals to discuss pricing, request references, and understand the complete installation process. This careful evaluation ensures you select a qualified contractor who delivers high-quality service and a successful installation.
