"We had been in our home for more than 20 years. During that time, we'd started a lot of projects without finishing them. We'd also neglected some aspects of the house and yard, and we had a ton of accumulated stuff. As an older couple who were moving out of state, we didn't have the time, energy, or resources to handle all of the cleanup and to finish the in-flight projects before selling. We met with some realtors to discuss options, but they all wanted us to sell to a professional house-flipper at a steeply discounted price - one that wouldn't give us enough return to buy our new house. Christy provided us with another option.
