When I called their office, the woman I spoke to understood my situation immediately and had their team on my doorstep at 8:00 the next morning, on the dot as scheduled. Their service specialist took apart the furnace inspected it and showed me by video the heat exchanger that our original contractor told me was bad.
Based on his very thorough examination, we knew that the furnace did not need replacement.
Obviously, the first company did not tell us the truth about the condition of our furnace so as to sell us a new one even though it was not needed.

"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment.
The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc.
The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived.
