"We had two Carrier HVAC systems installed, to the tune of $25K. As the installer was getting ready to leave he noted that there was an error light showing but it probably won't be a problem until it gets colder and we need to use the furnace. Really? Wait for it to fail? No, I had him fix it. I expect to have a new system which is operational, not one which will probably fail on us later! Amazing! A little over a month later the furnace went out anyway. They tech looked at it and told us the control board as bad. On a system which was only a few months old! Even better, they told me they could not get a replacement any time soon - factory problems or something. Again, really? There is not another board to be had anywhere and we had to deal with no heat for about 10 days. Thank goodness we were on the downside of summer.
