"On Christmas Eve, our furnace, well past its warranty, began to fail. Shavitz responded quickly, and the technician, Ramiro, was able to provide a temporary fix to ensure we had reliable heat. We didn't want to make a decision about replacing the furnace and Shavitz suggested a much less expensive option - cleaning the coils and installing a better filter. Based on our initial positive experience, we requested Ramiro perform the additional work. The process required most of a day, and Ramiro was again punctual, efficient, and professional. There were no surprises and Ramiro made sure we understood what was being done. We've used Shavitz for many years and we've been happy with their advice, their technicians, and the quality of the work."

"Awesome. While I probably could have scrounged around for a slightly better price, the speed, professionalism and quality of the work more than made up for it - and currently being unemployed, I don't say that lightly! They literally came THE NEXT DAY and did the entire install - remove old unit, rework the ducting, install an air cleaner, dress the wiring - all in one day! The job was done with expert quality - no loose wires or hoses lying around, everything square - and they even came back a few days later to make sure the sump pump and humidifier wire working correctly. finally, they called me a week after that, to make sure I got the Peoples Gas rebate paperwork together! I'd recommend them to anyone!"

"My furnace was installed by someone else that did a very poor job. I could not replace the filter without smashing it and smashing the new one to put in. Ridiculous! I had All Temp come out and they were able to do a quick fix so I didn't have to struggle with it anymore. He was on time, pleasant. He even put up with my dog wanting to say hello to him, Definitely would hire again!"

"The sump pump in my house started to make buzzing sound. I call the company on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to get a call back. A technician came on Sunday. He confirmed the pump has died. He gave me two options: he can install a new one right away or I can buy a new one and he can come back to install. Since the one he has isn't what I like, I decided to go with second option. I really like the honesty and being given the options. The new pump was installed the next day by the same technician, who looks like having done it many times. Everything works perfectly afterward. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Cahill installed my new furnaces in a professional manner and the units work very well. The annual service is thorough and complete. I am confident that the units are well maintained and not just given a cursory service. Installation of the ducts was done quickly and professionally and their advice helped me make the right decisions. They showed up to perform the work at the agreed time and completed the work efficiently. I didn't have to allocate a block of hours during which they might show up -- as with most service companies. I'm very pleased with this company."

"Four Seasons replaced a 27 year old heating and air conditioning system in a second floor closet in our home that appeared to have been installed before the closet was built around it. They were able to remove the old system, install a completely new system including humidifier that no one else said could be done. They were prompt in their arrival, professional in their approach, they were clean and respectful of our home. I could not be happier with the system they recommended, with the installers, or the completed installation."

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Highland Park, IL

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
