"The Besco team (sales, service, customer service) was a breath of fresh air for us. We purchased an older home and have had a series of mechanical issues (AC / Furnace) and recently had to replace our hot water heaters. The sales team was very helpful in outlining our various options in a low-pressure approach. The install team was exceptional in that they guys were willing to modify their placement of the unit so that we could use the (now) unused space for other (read: storage) purposes. This took add’l time and also required them to do a little additional work to make it work best for us. THEY DID THIS WILLINGLY BECAUSE IT MADE SENSE FOR US!! If you require anything HVAC / mechanical work for your home, please do not hesitate to engage Besco - you will not be sorry!"

"I hired All Temp to replace my AC and furnace in my condo. Overall, they did a great job. The initial inspection and quote walk through went very well and they answered every question I had. The installation went equally as well. The crew did great work and finished the project in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future."

"Excellent! I called them in the morning because I heard a rattling noise when the heat came on. It had been going on for a few days but it was getting louder so I wanted them to come in the next few days. I asked if they could come the same day and they made me the last appointment of the day, When I called to set up the service instead of a service call, Steve told me to get a furnace cleaning and they would actually do some work while the tech was there and told me about the Angie's List discount. The tech came was very thorough. told me the noise was related to the humidifier so once we turned it off, the noise stopped. I need a new humidifier and he stated that his office would call me with a quote. He then cleaned the furnace. I was his last appointment of the day and he was very pleasant to be his last job."

"Had two issues. 7 year old Home Depot water heaterwarranteeed for 8 years failed after 7. Lifeline came out looked at situation and ordered a new short form heater. Installed two days later. Discussed tankless and was tempting but we have never run out of hot water and price is still pretty high. Then after plumber left discovered water pressure was low in mater bath. Figured clogged aerator. Tried to removed and crumbled in hand with threads still in place. called to have new faucet installed. Tow days later Tim and Tim from Lifeline showed up with new faucet. Installation was tough on a 38 year old sink and faucet that definitely needed replacement. Both guys did great job in tight area under vanity."

"Cahill installed my new furnaces in a professional manner and the units work very well. The annual service is thorough and complete. I am confident that the units are well maintained and not just given a cursory service. Installation of the ducts was done quickly and professionally and their advice helped me make the right decisions. They showed up to perform the work at the agreed time and completed the work efficiently. I didn't have to allocate a block of hours during which they might show up -- as with most service companies. I'm very pleased with this company."

"Four Seasons replaced a 27 year old heating and air conditioning system in a second floor closet in our home that appeared to have been installed before the closet was built around it. They were able to remove the old system, install a completely new system including humidifier that no one else said could be done. They were prompt in their arrival, professional in their approach, they were clean and respectful of our home. I could not be happier with the system they recommended, with the installers, or the completed installation."

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Highland Park, IL

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
