"It went very well! Dylan was knowledgeable about removing our old oil burner that had died, and installing the new heat pump unit! The work was done in a timely fashion and he removed the old heater and cleaned up everything from the new install. He also followed up after a few days to make sure everything was okay, which it was. "It was quite a surprise to find black mold growing in our mini-split heat-pump/ac units over the weekend! The situation was quite dire with the system emitting a bad smell and the fact that I have asthma and mold allergies which posed a serious health risk! After being told by the company that originally installed the system, “We don’t provide deep cleaning service for these units, try looking on Angie’s List (boo on Sila!)” I landed here. While other companies did respond to my bid, Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning was the most responsive and was able to send out a team on one day’s notice (the wait for other service providers was up to three weeks!). The tech team, Josh and Zack, arrived on time and called me 1/2 before arrival as promised. They were very respectful, kept a clean work space and (since we are in the middle of a pandemic) wore masks and were very careful about the usual COVID protocols. The four units in our home are now SPARKLING CLEAN! We are 110% pleased with this job!! We will hire Atlantic as need be in the future for our heating and cooling needs. I have given up on the company that originally installed the units and will post a truthful review about them in an appropriate space online. "They are really a top notch company: - they responded immediately to the inquiry - they sent Brian, an experienced HVAC solutions salesman. He â got itâ . We have a 1951-built house, with these 3.5â round â spider legâ ducts, heat only. We were told by other companies that those had to be replaced, and the result costed 2.5 x as much! He was the one who figured out if we ran a return duct up to the second floor, we could have A/C up to the second floor. - we had oil and converted to gas, purchased a new gas-fired unit and new central A/C using the existing ducts - the installers were top notch, worked non stop and were clean. They did not drag out the project. The communication between Brian and them was complete, they understood the various pieces of the scope. - we had a small hiccup in the beginning getting the initial work scheduled, but after that the front office was communicative on when folks would be coming out and completing the project. Not just their own workers but also their subs (electricians in our case, we hired plumber separately). - Iâ m now sitting in central a/c! And no more 15 degree difference walking up to the second floor. I highly recommend ARS from top to bottom. Itâ s been both a pleasure and a relief having them work for us."

He gave me hints on how to keep the unit running in great condition, such as shutting it off when the lawn is mowed, because it can suck in unwanted debris. Cover the top of the unit for the winter to keep anything from entering it. Rinse the sides of the unit lightly with a hose to remove debris from vent openings. I am very satisfied with the work this professional did on my central air conditioning."

"My wife and I are glad that we chose to work with Accutemp, and in particular, their residential manager, Matt, for our HVAC installation. Matt was extremely responsive, clear, and upfront during the entire process, from the planning phase, to post-installation questions. We have already recommended Matt and Accutemp to several of our friends, including our neighbors past and present. With regard to the particular project we worked with Accutemp on, my wife and I bought a house in Newton built in the 1800s that didn't have any air conditioning. We had gotten multiple estimates and met with a number of contractors to discuss the project, as the age of the house and the unique interior layout and design made it a very challenging job. We ended up having a ductless mini-split heat pump system installed (provides both heat and AC). Matt and Accutemp not only gave us the most competitive bid in terms of financials, but there's was also the only bid to include the installation of a sixth indoor air handling unit. Every other contractor we met with insisted that five would be sufficient. Having now lived through some 90+ degree days, we can definitively say that the sixth unit is essential to keeping the whole house cool and comfortable. On the initial date of HVAC install, Matt and his team arrived at our home to find that my electrician (who had to do major work preceding the HVAC install) had not stuck to his original stated plan, completely throwing off Accutemp's plans. In less than thirty minutes, Matt spoke with the electrician, discussed the available options with me, and formulated an alternative, the results of which we were equally happy with. Matt also came out and reviewed the functioning of our boiler, along with recommended repair/replacement options and the cost of each option. Ultimately, we decided not to replace the boiler, but we have a better sense of how and when to approach doing so after meeting with him and discussing it. Finding reliable contractors in any field can be difficult, and in particular with HVAC, we had less-than stellar service in the past in the Boston area. We are happy to have found Accutemp and Matt, and look forward to working with them in the future on all of our HVAC needs."
