"Juan did a boiler inspection and tune-up for me in August 2022 and I could not be happier with the level of service provided. From the first call I made to them when I was asking multiple companies for quotes, the person I talked to, Kelly, was a pleasure to talk to and was quick to tell me what all the 12-point inspection included, as well as pricing and availability (another company couldn't tell me what the 12 points were and another, Universal Heating, simply hung up on me). Kelly scheduled me very promptly for less than 24 hours from my call and an automated text system sent me a text indicating who would show up (Juan) and when. Juan was on-time, very professional in all interactions, and extremely thorough in his inspection and tune-up. He didn't upsell me or even charge labor for replacement of a couple small parts, which was unnecessary but appreciated. Juan was even happy to explain things when I asked him (many) questions about how the system works, and he told me about rebates that RG&E offers that were relevant to us. I will absolutely be calling JJB Mechanical again for any HVAC needs."

"This company was great! Paul was honest every step of the way, showing what he was doing and why. He loves helping people and it shows. For my project I received three different quotes and Paul charged me 1/3 of what they were offering. I tell you what, I’ve found my go to guy for any home projects or repairs."

"Excellent. I want to hire a "one man show" to do the work because I feel I get better craftsmanship that way. John isn't the greatest salesman, he didn't come with tons of brochures, etc. like another guy that also gave me an estimate. But he did fully explain the furnace options and what he would have to do and would like to do. And I was talking to the guy who was going to do the work so I know there wasn't going to be the "when are you going to do such and such and the installer replies that's not on my work order" things. I liked John's no pressure way of selling. As I expected the workmanship was excellent and professional. Whenever I needed to make a decision about something with the work. He gave me the options, told me what he thought was the best option and I usually went with his opinion."

"The furnace/AC replacement done by Keith and his crew was excellent. The price was reasonable and everything went as planned. Any issues were explained and taken care of. I recommend Knaak HVAC"

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Irondequoit, NY

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
