"Got a service call deal for $34 and had them scheduled to come out and give an estimate to have a gas line extended to our laundry room for the dryer. The estimate ended up being much higher than we anticipated and we wanted to get a second estimate. We also asked if he could hook up our washer water supply, and he was unable to do so and recommended we re-run the pipes and valves as they were too old. We had another plumber coming out the next day from a previous work order, and asked for the estimate - it was half the price of Hope's, and he was able to attach the water connections with no problem. Felt like Hope plumber was just trying to invent work to get paid for."

"<p>This is a small operation that is personable and responsive.  Jeff took my call and came out the next day to give an estimate at no charge.  I had a water leak and he gave a lot of time and thought as to where it might be coming from.  Although he needed to tear out the wall first to be sure, he told me how to stop the flow and gave me options for reducing damage until I could contact my insurance company.  Then he came out the next business day and repaired the leak within a short amount of time.  After that, I was able to start the restoration process.</p> <p>I wouldn?t have called Pipe Dream Plumbing if it hadn?t been for Angie?s List because I'd never heard of them, but I?m glad I did.  So many times the big companies charge you a service fee just to come out, as well as exorbitant fees for the labor, supplies and travel.  Not Jeff.  He estimated his time and costs up front (worst case) and then charged less on the final price since the repair was easier than expected.  While he was here, he also fixed another minor problem.  I would not hesitate to use him again.  In fact, I will be calling him for a hot water heater replacement very soon.</p> <br />"

"Nick does excellent work  is VERY reliable and reasonably priced and trustworthy. <br /> I had plumbing challenges that were building up over the course of a couple of weeks and hit "crisis mode" a couple of days ago. <br /> I called Nick and not only was the quote he provided reasonable, he was able to fit me into his schedule, and got everything fixed at my house today. <br /> Nick also helped me out with what could have been a major issue at a house that I was selling several months ago.  He was able to do the repairs without having to replace the equipment. <br /> I will never use another plumber and will have him replace & maintain my HVAC when necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"It actually went very well. They were prompt, worked fast (about 2 hours total), and no leaks when done. My only disappointments were: 1. I remembered afterwards that they advertised a $20 senior discount which was not mentioned. 2. The work quality looked fine except the elbow fittings used look like 1/2" on a 3/4" in and out copper pipe system, so the overall house water flow has likely been reduced somewhat."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Kennard, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
