"I hired the wrong person initially to replace my polybutylene pipe. After over 2.5 months of continuing leaks I decided to have the work replaced. Glen from Ragsdale came over to give an estimate. He fixed where water was coming into the family room from the upstairs bathroom. He inspected the rest of the work done. The estimate from Ragsdale was significantly less than the other estimates I got including the repair he did that day. Glen and his assistant came and did the job in 8 hours. They were polite and professional . I wish I had hired them from the beginning. It would have saved me a lot of money, anxiety and damage to my home. I will call them for future plumbing needs."

"I had a leak above my kitchen which I suspected may have been from my A/C unit that occupies the space above my kitchen ceiling. I called Moncrief to have someone come out and look at my A/C. They were able to send out someone the next day I'd be available to be at home. The technician, Barry, was on time and was very friendly. He was able to determine that the leak was not coming from any part of my A/C unit, but was from another pipe in the same area. He also made some adjustments to the shoddily installed piping connected to my A/C unit and replaced a pipe that needed to be replaced. I was very pleased with the work done and am considering signing up for their service contract. If I encounter any problems with my A/C unit, Moncrief will be my first call."

"When he arrived, I explained to my service technician (Andy Davey) that I had a water leak from my shower and I showed him where it seemed to come from. I have a service panel behind the shower valve which makes the job of checking things out a lot better, but I explained to Andy that I dreaded the idea of his having to cut a hole in the sheetrock at the level of the showerhead, in large part because I didn't have any more matching wallpaper to fix things up afterwards. <br /> After examining the situation, Andy told me he thought he might be able to avoid messing up the wall by working through the existing hole from the shower side where the connector juts out of the wall. He explained he might have to expand the hole a little bit and might be able to cover it up with a slightly bigger escutcheon. And that's exactly what he did. I am sure it helped that I have CPVC pipes and easy access to the shower valve from behind. <br /> Andy was patient in listening to me, helpful with his suggestions and instructions, and very courteous. <br /> Along the way I learned that plumbers (at least some of them) often use a book which shows time allowances for various tasks when they come up with an up-front price for the customer. (Car mechanics do that. These time allowances can be generous.) In my case I informed Andy at the beginning that I was prepared to wait until the end of the job to get the price, and it seems that the book didn't quite cover what my job involved anyway. I had been told ahead of time FitzGerald and Sons charges $72 for the service call when the client decides against getting the job done at the price quoted, and I thought that was fair. I was essentially charged for 1.75 hours at $150 per hour, plus about $20 for supplies, less a 5% Angie's discount. Considering the results I consider the charge was reasonable. <br />"

"I purchased a coupon for $100 for "$200 worth of work". And I basically had to force the issue to get any work done. He said "that isn't what I meant" when I showed him the leaking outdoor faucet, so the coupon didn't seem to be as it appeared. The spigot that was actually used looks like a gas valve, rather than a water valve, which is rather frustrating when trying to get the water pressure right for the kids' sprinkler, washing the car, etc."

"I will start by saying that all the people involved in my repair went above and beyond. I know companies have many people that work for them and it is consistently difficult to keep people who represent your standard level of service. Good service is hard to find these days, but I felt that I was rewarded with a great team of individuals. I had a significant amount of roots that had gotten into my sewer pipe about 40 ft from my home. A trench about 14 ft long and about 10-12 ft deep was dug to make the repair. From the scheduling which was coordinated by Terra at the office and Roy Elrod in the field, everything progressed very quickly and was completed within 24 hours. The marking of the gas, electrical, and water lines was all done within a few hours of Roy locating the problem in the sewer. Roy delivered to me the full quote and when exactly they would be there to complete the work in about 20 minutes after he had diagnosed the problem. He along with Jack, his team member, the Dig team, and not to forget Terra who was instrumental in all the coordinating of all aspects of the job did a "SUPERIOR JOB" in getting my repair completed as quickly as any job of this size I have ever had done. Very polite, very respectful, and very professional are how I will describe this experience I had with this great team from Reliable Heating and Air and Plumbing. They were here when they said they would be and the job was completed in the timeframe that I was told and was within the estimate that I had been quoted. I was extremely pleased with the their work and would definitely recommend them if you need any type of outside sewer repair. Thank you again, Terra, Roy, Jack, and the Dig Team. All of you were great and thank you for making this bad situation have a strong positive outcome."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Kingston, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
