"The entire job went very well. The plumber arrived the morning after I initially called them. The plumber was very professional, clean, and personable. He came across as being very knowledgeable. He did not push anything on me or try to hard sell me on anything. He simply laid out the options to me and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. Total time to remove the old water heater, install the new water heater and water softener took about 5 hours. The service technician was very careful to clean everything up after he was done. He also wore booties over his boots when in the house. He checked everything for leaks. In the end, I had a very well functioning hot water heater and water softener with no leaks and no mess. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism of Doug Anderson, the Service Technician. It's hard for me to rate this company on price because I did not shop around, but the work was outstanding."

"I really like the online appointment setting. My water heater pilot light would not stay lit, starting on a Saturday night and I was able to schedule a non-emergency appointment for Monday right then. The technician was very prompt, courteous and professional. He was able to measure that their was no voltage coming from the thermopile and determine that the part needed was either the thermopile assembly kit or the gas valve assembly. He also was able to help me look up the warranty information, show that my water heater was under warranty for parts still and the number to call to order the part. He also scheduled an installation appointment for the day my parts were scheduled to arrive right then. I received the estimate the next day, while waiting for the parts to come the following day after that. The installation prices seemed really high considering the price of a new water heater. The estimate for installation of both parts when they arrived, the thermopile and gas valve assembly, was $700. I canceled my appointment, knowing that if my husband and I could not put the parts on ourselves or find someone we know with water heater part experience, then I could buy a whole new water heater for that estimate price. We drained our water heater ourselves, and from there our HVAC/Furnace family member was able to install the new parts, check for leaks, refill, and start up the water heater with no problems in under 2 hours. While the customer service from Flow-Rite was very good, the high priced estimate was very unreasonable. The initial service call was worth $50, but I would not call them again based on their service prices.

"Pipe froze and burst during the January deep freeze, spraying water throughout my finished basement.  I had no water until this was repaired.  I called 5 plumbers before I found somebody who could come that day.  Showed up that evening within two hours on his way home.  Cut out the bad pipe and replaced that section.  Efficient, friendly, and obviously knew what he was doing.  Reasonably priced.  He didn't charge me any "emergency fees" or "evening rates."  Just fixed the pipe and charged me a reasonable fee.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
