"Seaside Plumbing is my go to company for quick, efficient service for my homes plumbing needs. Tom Hennessey just finished installing a new “brass ball lever water main valve” in my basement. It works so much smoother than the old plastic red tee handle main water valve."

"Kitchen sink pipes froze during severe cold spell on a Saturday So instead of asking for emergency call I simply wrapped the pipes with R19 insulation and opened the doors to let heat in and the next morning the pipes started flowing. When the plumber showed up on Monday I informed him the pipes appeared to be okay. He double checked and even looked in the crawl space to check them all was fine. Took just under an hour and when I asked about bill he informed me 'no charge'."

"Came home late from work one evening and discovered that sewage ejector pump had not been working and sewage water accumulating in the pit. Called 3 plumbers via Angie’s List who had 24/7 service. First guy gave me $1,000 quote by phone, and he would not have been able to fix for at least 3 days. Jim picked up right away, listened to my description of the problem, quoted me at $600-$700 and scheduled me right away for the next morning. He arrived on time with a new pump, surveyed the issue and got right to work removing the old pump and installing the new one. He was personable, knowledgeable and it only took a couple of hours. Would definitely call Jim again if other plumbing issues."

"He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I told him I couldn't afford anything fancy before he examined the pipes. After he looked everything over he told me what he could and quoted me a price that was well within my means.. I was very pleased to get same day service. He made sure that he cleaned up his mess and even took the bucket I had under the sink to catch any water outside and emptied the debris. <br /> I will recommend this company to anyone who needs any plumbing work done and will continue to use this company if I need any work done is the future. <br />"

"We have used Schagrin Gas twice, once for a general checkup and instruction on a propane fireplace and the second time to PM our propane heating system.  We recently purchased the home and were unfamiliar with propane systems.   Both services were performed by P.J. who was professional, informative and extremely helpful.  He took time to explain the systems and even checked our stove to ensure it was working properly.  The office staff was helpful and billing was correct and prompt.  Highly recommend. <br />"

"The original water valves were not the correct type of valves for the location and the handles that are used to open and close the valves rusted and broke off. The pit is about two feet deep with the pipes and valves at the bottom. Because of the hgh water level at this location the valves are often submerged in water. I had tried to use several local plumbers. Some would look at the job and never call back. Others would not even look. I decided to try Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and much to my surprise they came quickly, on time, looked at the problem, gave a quote on the spot, ordered the parts, and the job was finished in less than a week. It involved some removal of sod from my lawn. They did the work and replaced the sod and all is well. I struggled with this problem for over a year before trying them. I would not hesitate to use them again. In fact, I am using them to convert my existing hot water system to a tankless hybrid system. I will post a review for that job when it is complete. You can definitely use this company with confidence."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lewes, DE

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
