"Robert took on a very difficult project. Our home is a Chicago landmark, and thus we needed to handle our old clay tiles with care; individually removing them and cleaning them so that the roof could be replaced. The roofers then reinstalled the entire clay system after removing an old obsolete chimney and tuckpointing another one. They also sanded down or repaired many aging soffits and fascia, replaced that which had been destroyed or rotted. We had a number of changes along the way, so we had to negotiate as we went and Robert was reasonable in those discussions. As a final note, we quoted out five contractors. Two said our project was too difficult. Two others didn't return my requests for the proposed work; and I wasn't surprised given how pessimistic they were about their ability to accomplish our project. "Can't say enough good things about our experience with AAA-1 Masonry & Tuckpointing. We had two holding walls with brick that was deteriorating. They power washed to identify which bricks needed to be removed and swapped out those bricks with new ones. In addition they replaced the capstones on the two walls with larger capstones to provide the walls more protection from the elements. Everything was sealed and completed flawlessly. The crew was experienced and professional. Since the work was done this summer, our walls don't even get wet from rain! We are so grateful for the expert repair but also the guidance that replacing the capstones would provide more of a long term solution. Highly recommend these guys for your masonry needs."

"Tom and his team did an amazing job repairing and repainting the exterior of our home. The 1880s Victorian style has cedar siding, consisting of a combination of traditional boards and cedar tiles. It had been touched up and well maintained over the years, but no extensive repair or painting had been done. Many of the details, such as the trim around the windows and decorative teeth under the third floor's window trim, had chipped or fallen off. On the wall most exposed to the wind and sun, some siding required repair, a few pieces had to be replaced. Tom's team, led by Sergio, repaired/replaced boards/tiles as necessary, then sanded, primed and repainted all the siding. Their attention to detail was beyond impressive, with the window trim lined perfectly and the decorative accessories, such as the teeth, repaired to its original condition. We were most impressed with how much care the team took at sanding the cedar down to the wood before priming and repainting. The end result is siding that looks brand new. Another plus is they are reasonably priced. We received six quotes and they were in the middle of the pack. I highly recommend Fortune Restoration and Tom and his team. "Outstanding experience with CAS Construction! Carlos and his crew did an awesome job renovating the back entrance of my home! Rotted brick pillar at head of the back entrance stairs was removed and a new perfect brick pillar was built and installed. They repaired all the imperfections in the surrounding concrete, sanded, power washed, and carefully applied the paint finish. The tuckpointing, caulking perimeter of the entire house, and the similar work in the other areas that needed repair and improvement, all done with minimal mess and no stress! From start to finish, Carlos was very knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. As was Iris, owner, CAS Construction. She was always available to provide answers promptly when I had additional questions. "Had a leaky back porch roof that had been done in old fashion (nails) and bad masonry, and resulted in leaking that caused holes drywall to cave in section of porch roof. Called several roofers over months; they were either unable to do the job, charged excessive rates or unresponsive. Second City responded, provided a competitive quote quickly and (after some scheduling issues due to weather) completed the job as planned. They were respectful, answered questions and addressed concerns. No leaks in new roof (I know b/c we haven't fixed drywall yet). Also referred an AC guy who did good work as well - would use again."
