"On 10/27/2027, I had to find a plumber to repair my water heater that had stopped heating water. I went online to Angi?s website and received 3 different plumbing companies in the Austin, TX area. One of the companies was 5-Mile Plumbing Co. The owner of the company, Elvis Bernal, contacted me. We discussed the issue with the water heater. Mr. Bernal gave me his assessment and provided me with a bid proposal on the cost of the repair. Mr. Bernal came to our house the next day and immediately started work on the water heater. I watched Mr. Bernal from a distance and asked questions regarding the procedure. Mr. Bernal went out of his way to answer my questions. During his work, Mr. Bernal also saw something else that needed replacement on the water heater and immediately left the house to go purchase the part. Mr. Bernal replaced the part, continued the repair and verified one of the heating elements had gone out. A new heating element was installed and Mr. Bernal ?bled? the"

If he is tech savvy enough to use Apple Pay (which was really great firme) the one would think he should be able to set reminders for his appointments so he doesn't forget. "We have a water system on our place for cleaning and treating our water since we have wells. We have a water clarification system which we bought from them and they come out every year and do maintenance on it. It is more than just a softener, it's a clarification system as well, it crops out solids and everything. They've got a service tech that's really knowledgeable and knows his business. Their maintenance costs and service calls are not inexpensive but they are no different from anybody else. When they came to install the new part, it took about 20 or 30 minutes."

"Before the water heater installation, the technician said that in order to meet code requirement the water heater needed a vacuum breaker, which cost $95 above and beyond the $900 coupon price.  I said to him that the coupon price should be for a water heater that met all regulatory requirements instead of charging me extra for the vacuum breaker that's a code requirement.  He said no.  Since I needed the new water heater badly, I asked him to go ahead to install it and I would call his manager to talk about this.  When I called the manager he said he had to talk with the technician when he returned to the office the next morning.  When I called the manager again Monday morning after he had a chance to talk to the technician, he reduced the charge for the vacuum breaker to $30, perhaps the cost of the parts.  However, I still think that the vacuum breaker should be part of the package cost because they are supposed to supply and install a water heater with all parts required by prevailing codes because it's not an optional equipment.  Also, the technician used a pressure regulator, a flexible copper hose, and a power supply cable from my old water heater instead of using brand new ones.  Since the coupon did not list all these details, I couldn't argue about this, but the previous company which installed my last water heater supplied all these brand new, including the 3/4" brass ball valve for free while I had to pay $95 for it now.
