"Working with Damian was such a pleasure. He is knowledgeable, his prices are very reasonable and this man goes above and beyond. It was the best experience I have ever had hiring a home pro. I always prefer local owned businesses over corporate affiliates so it was a no brainer for me when choosing this company. I am so pleased with the service and will keep him in my contacts. Damian with Elite Indoor Air is a real one. And we all know that genuine, honest people are incredibly difficult to find these days."

"I very rarely write endorsements, but in this case, my experience was so satisfying that I felt an obligation to share. I have no connection to Marty, other than hiring him and his company, I have not been paid or discounted to write this and I never would sell my opinion. I had massive amounts of water leaking into my finished basement during the July 2017 record rainfalls. It wasn't the first time to get some water, but this was way more than normal. Carpet smelled really bad. I was sneezing and couldn't spend more than a few minutes downstairs to do my laundry. I contacted 2 contractors listed on Home Advisor. Marty from ATI called first thing the next day. He rearranged his schedule to see the damage after I told him I was anxious to get it fixed asap. He arrived on time and texted before he arrived. Very professional. Highly qualified. I was impressed with his scientific knowledge of the problem. He was NOT selling me on his services, he explained how the damage occurred, how to clean it up and what would need to be done to fix it. He discovered potential asbestos tile underneath the soaked carpet. I told him to take it all out and remediate mold and asbestos. I chose to forgo the prior testing to expedite the repair. He gave me a quote on site and I gave him a down payment. He and his employee, Wyatt, arrived 10 days later and worked more than 12 hours that day in hazmat suits and masks. The amount of work needed was unbelievable. They sealed off the basement with plastic and put up notices of the hazards. They came back another day to complete outside drainage of gutters. I asked about some other asbestos abatement and Marty prepared a proposal for exactly what I requested. I didn't hesitate to sign another contract for the additional work based on the quality of their work. I'm extremely pleased with their work and the results. I could add so much more to this review for all the things they did above and beyond the contract. One thing they did was to help move an old commercial oven from the basement when a buyer showed up in the midst of their remediation work. I thought the pricing was reasonable. The other quote I received was from someone who outlined a completely bogus remediation using essential oils and a $1000 fan. The other contractor told me he would not be wearing the hazmat suits and masks. That contractor's proposal was close in price to ATI, but I am certain the outcome would have been horrible. I spent $3250 on the first remediation and will spend another $4000 on the second part of the remediation."

"1.5 months after we moved into our new home we noticed a leaking window that had substantial mold growth throughout he entire wall from years of water getting behind the siding. With in days of finding the window mold, we found a leaking tub drain that allowed mold to grow on a 10'x16' section of our basement wall. As an engineer I didn't think it would be difficult to remediate myself. I did my research, built a containment area (even used a HEPA air purifier), purchased the proper respirator, gloves etc and began. About half way through I began feeling nauseous and had enough. I called AAIR and Bob was out to do a free estimate within 48 hours. He was EXTREMELY thorough in his inspection, crawling through tight area's that I wouldn't want to stick my hand through. I received the quote within 48 hours. They're estimate was very competitive compare to the 2 other companies who provided estimates and Bob was much more thorough in his inspection. AAIR's crew of 3 showed up on time and got to work immediately. They set up the proper containment in both area's and completed the work the same day. All 3 were friendly, paid attention to detail, respectful and thorough. After they completed and cleaned up, they took me through and explained what they did and why it was done. Hopefully I won't have any future mold issues but if I do, Bob and AAIR will be the only company I call.

"I hired Wi_MOLD to set up a negative air and treat some mold in my home. The demolition price and cleaning were out of budget but my family and church helped me out to get the job done. Brandon and Tom were wonderful. They care about you, and your home, and have so many helpful tips. Everything they recommended I did what I could afford but my health is improving every day because of them."

"Overall I'm very pleased with the work John has done. He clearly knows his stuff and held true to his initial comment that if he found something that needed to be fixed, he'd fix it at no extra charge. Unfortunately his guarantee wound up being expensive for him since he found the duct work in my attic was a complete mess and fixed it, which he had not initially planned on. But I very much appreciate him keeping his word and fixing the ducts as well as electrical, venting, and other little things that were messed up. (My house was updated 2 owners ago and while the owner had great enthusiasm for remodeling, had very little expertise, resulting in a lot of unpleasant surprises.)

We had a communication glitch about halfway through the project. Due to some health issues, he didn't come for a few days, nor did he call when he said he would. After we discussed it, John has been excellent about keeping me updated as to when he'll be at the house and what work will be done. His extra effort has been reassuring for me.

The foam insulation John and his crew installed in the basement, crawl spaces, add-on entry way, and attic has already had a positive effect, as has caulking cracks in the walls allowing cold air from the attic into the bedrooms. I have a new bathroom exhaust fan that actually takes air in and is vented out of the house instead of into the soffit which resulted in mold and rust issues. As soon as John has crew available he will blow cellulose insulation into my attic.

John has been fun to work with and his work has gotten me the results I wanted.

UPDATE: It's been one month since I wrote this review, which I wrote before the work was completely finished as a favor to John as he was starting another Angie's List deal and wanted me to mention the work he'd done. It's also been a month since I heard from John. The work that is finished continues to be great, but I have 36 bales of cellulose insulation stacked in my garage. A friend helped me move it in because I needed the parking space. I also have his insulation blower, hose, shop vac, and a bunch of tools, as well as some extra foam insulation laying around my house, yard, and garage. Little did I know when I purchased this house that my 2 car garage would be used to store my contractor's tools and materials!

I have left several voice mails and texts as well as two emails asking John to contact me and I have heard nothing. The human part of me hopes that he and his family are ok. The homeowner part of me wants him to get his butt back over here and finish the last part of the job, or at least call me to tell me when he thinks he'll be able to get here.

John is great when he's here. When he's not here, it's frustrating."

FAQs for indoor air quality testing projects in Madison, WI

You should test your home's air quality if you or your family experience health problems like allergies or respiratory issues, as these could be linked to indoor contaminants. Also, consider testing if you're concerned about mold, radon, carbon monoxide, or if you've recently had home construction, demolition, excavation, or remodeling that could have released chemicals into your indoor air.

An indoor air quality test typically takes one to three hours to complete. After the inspection, you'll receive a detailed written report within two to 10 days. The evaluation includes comprehensive air sampling from all designated areas in your home. Your specialist will review the findings with you and provide clear guidance on steps to take if any issues are found, helping ensure your indoor environment meets health and safety standards.

A certified indoor air quality consultant or inspector is the right professional to perform your indoor air test. While some home inspectors have certifications, they often subcontract this specialized work to trained professionals with advanced tools. This expert will thoroughly evaluate air samples from every area in your home and clearly explain the findings to you. Be sure to confirm your tester's credentials before scheduling your service.
