"Sam was great to work with. He installed two heat pumps for us. He called us right away after our request went in and came out on a weekend to do the initial assessment . He was prompt in getting back to us with a quote and was able to do the install within a couple of weeks from the initial call. He communicated well and showed up when he said he was going to. From start to finish it was a great experience. Highly recommend!"

"The office said that a service person would be right out to check out the problem. The Tech, Ron was there within a half hour. He was friendly, respectful and listened to the situation. He diagnosed the problem within a minute. He had the parts to fix the problem. The whole matter took about and hour from phone call to repair. The phone interviewer asked the right questions so that the tech could be prepared for the problem. One of the things that I really appreciated was that the tech was well dressed and clean and didn't smell like cigarettes or pot."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Mechanic Falls, ME

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
