I had so much trouble even getting estimates for this job (other companies either never called back or looked at it and refused to bid on it because they were too busy or the job was too small) but Joe came out and gave me a good estimate and was able to complete the work within 4 weeks. His team kept my yard clean, set up the scaffolding with great respect to my neighbors property (there is only 8-10 feet between our houses and they were able to rig their equipment to keep my neighbors sidewalk and door unblocked — other companies said it couldn’t be done!), and did a great job fixing my chimney and tuckpointing areas that needed attention on my all brick 1940s facade. "In The Rough Stonework & Landscaping built us a beautiful greenhouse foundation that has knee-high stone walls and a cement floor. The floor has slight slope with weep holes on the low end, perfect for keeping the floor dry. They also put in a patio that wraps around the greenhouse and made it with a mix of different bricks/stones. Our greenhouse/patio is now a perfect place for gardening and lounging. On another project they made us a flag-stone patio with a stone stairway through the garden allowing easy access to our yard. In The Rough Landscaping does quality work with an eye for detail and they do it at a great price, I would highly recommend Lester Avalos and his crew."

"Last year (08/2016) I had the upper half of my chimney redone and coating. Nick's price was similar to the other quotes I had, but they guaranteed their work for 15 years. When they finished I had the best looking chimney on the block. They blended in the new bricks, replaced the cement crown and the correct cap. 2015 I had ice coving my cap, this past winter no ice at all. In June 2017, I notice a couple of bricks peeling (spalling), so I called Nick. He arranged someone to come out and take a look. Besides a couple of spalling bricks they notice the crown needed a little reinforcement. They scheduled me for an appointment the following week. I was going out of town, but they said no problem. I got back from my trip and saw my picture perfect chimney. Just like before, they cleaned up so well that it looked as though no one was there. MN winters are harsh and to provide a guarantee and someone who stands by it speaks volumes to why you should hire Nick to do your work."

"Tom and his crew repaired our crumbling brick chimney and cap. They were professional, quick, and the work looked great at the end. They did have an issue with the cap partially washing out prior to setting due to a surprise torrential downpour, but they returned the next day and fixed the issue. I would hire them again."

"All the workers that came to our house were efficient, helpful and reasonably on time.  But the company office appeared to be poorly organized to respond if something out of the ordinary occurred.  The inspecting and cleaning of chimneys was done quickly and cleanly.  The installation of the wood burning insert was scheduled in 2 steps.  First the unit would be installed, then a week later another person would perform first start-up and explain how to use and maintain it.  When the installers arrived they discovered the box had been opened and several parts were missing.  They called store right away and left a message.  They did as much as they could without getting a call back from the store, so they left the job incomplete.  A day passed and we heard nothing from the store.  I called the salesman I had worked with and left a message.  No call back.  My wife called and by interrogating the receptionist learned they were working on the problem, were trying to order the missing parts.  I called again and caught the salesman at his desk.  He claimed to not know the current state of the problem.  "It's in the hands of the parts department."  Unhappy, my wife tried again demanding contact with someone superior to the salesman. She was given the number for Ken and I called him.  Now I learned they were going to take parts from a demo unit and install them on the start up date to meet the schedule commitment.  On the start up date the installer called to tell us he was delayed 2 hours at another site.  While waiting for him the city inspector showed up when the store had scheduled his visit.  We explained the installation had not been completed, he glanced at it quickly, and left saying something about rescheduling.  When the installer arrived he finished the installation and did a good job of teaching us about the unit.  He called the store and left a message about the city inspector.  The store did not call us back.  I placed calls to both the store inspection department and the city inspector.  Neither of them returned my call so we can only assume that an understanding was reached between the store and the city and we are legal.
The unit appears to be well designed and performing as intended.
