"I Called to get an in person quote for a tankless water heater flush and left this job with a whole house filter and a fridge connection. When Michael first arrived we inspected the tankless unit and tested the water to conclude flushing was not my best option. He then walked me through my options for home filters and we decided on a Halo system. Michael was very well educated on the subject and gave me the best value filter for my needs. He installed the unit the next day in less than a few hours and left me with a flawless work of art. I couldn't be more impressed with the professionalism he brings to this trade! "Dave was very efficient and knowledgeable. He was able to supply my quote before he left. I look forward to working with Southland heating and air. Follow up: I made my decision and signed the contract. Best decision I could have made. They were thousands of dollars less for the exact same equipment than 3 other companies I got estimates from. When challenged none of the other companies could revise their estimate to even come close. Southland is a Mitsubishi diamond dealer so I got full Mitsubishi warranties plus 1 year from Southland of parts and service. The day the installers arrived, on time, it was raining. Jamie and Ricardo used the utmost care to protect my home. They covered the floors, moved and covered the furniture and made sure before they left that I fully understood how to use the remote and operate the equipment. "We have used Darrow before for our unit and the condo association and were extremely satisfied. We called him again when our heating unit stopped working. We called on a Friday afternoon and we asked if he could come out the next day or Monday and he insisted that we not wait (since we were having a cold spell) and came out the next day and worked around our schedule. He's friendly, knowledgeable and his price is always fair and reasonable (and he didn't charge extra for a weekend). He also diagnosed the problem right away and didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. He also noticed on the roof a problem with our neighbor's unit and he replaced the cover to a water spout so they wouldn't get water leaking in (and did it at no charge). We're always apprehensive any time we have to hire someone for repairs, but Darrow has proved himself to be our go-to person for heating (and air conditioning should we need that). He has a great work ethic and cares about his customers."

"Never having had air vents cleaned before I was a little unsure of how it actually worked and have nothing to compare this to.  I liked B very much, he was very helpful on the phone and while he provided the service.  He offered good suggestions and tips.  He seemed very professional, arrived when he said he would and finished an hour or so sooner than he thought he would.  He was responsive to questions before during and after and seemed to know what he was doing.  He did spend some time in his truck talking on the phone but I did not feel it impacted the service he provided.
The amount of dust raised by this activity drove me out of the house for over an hour.  We all developed bloody noses over the next few days although I ran the ventilating fan for well over two hours.  I am assuming that this is a normal part of having vents vacuumed out with a giant hose but I was not prepared for it!  I don't think that this was the fault of the service provider but it would have been nice to know before hand which is why I am posting this here.
The price was high but not out of the range of what other providers quoted to me and seems to me to be appropriate given other quotes.  I give $$ a B only because 3 days after I had the work done there was a deal for the same work for about $300.

He thoroughly explained to me the importance of the duct work: location and size of the ducts to maximize the efficiency of the system that he was installing. Our home is an old home, and I really appreciate the care that he took in the installation process. I obtained 3 quotes for this job and West Tech Mechanical was in the middle. All the persons that came to our house were nice people.
