"Everything went well!  They did accidentally bring the wrong equipment at first because of a paperwork mixup at the home office, but they corrected it quickly and even upgraded my outdoor heat pump unit as compensation for the mistake.  That did cause them to have to drive to the Lennox distribution center and back, setting the install completion back a couple of hours.  I guess for that I have to knock them on "quality".
But other than that, everything went smoothly.  They were professional and courteous.  They also called back the next day to check on everything and make sure that everything was satisfactory and to apologize for the mixup.

"Contacted Total Comfort as soon as we realized our unit had stopped blowing cold. Unfortunately it was in the evening and after hours (isn't that always the way). Received a call back from an on-call technician within just a few minutes. I explained what was going on and he was more than willing to jump in is truck and head over but was very straight forward and explained that he could diagnose but there was always a possibility he may not have the parts needed that night. I hadn't considered that and was appreciative of his candor. Thunder storm rolling (thankfully) so I knew the temps were going to drop for the evening and told the tech I'd push the service call until the next day. He asked that I contact the office first thing to get on the schedule. Next morning I received a call from Total Comfort before I could call them and they scheduled a tech to come out between 1pm and 4pm that afternoon. A little before 1pm, the tech "Alex R" called to let us know he was on his way. Yes, that's correct. They set a service window between 1pm and 4pm and they actually showed up at the beginning of the quoted service window not and hour or two after it (which seems more the norm for service contractors). Skipping ahead to the most important part... Alex was awesome. Not just punctual but extremely polite, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem, offered the solution, answered our questions, asked for authorization before proceeding and didn't try to up-sell. That's the support a homeowner expects. "I sent a text to Clover on a Sunday evening when the temperatures had dropped very low and one of our HVAC units was not working properly. I was surprised to get a response the same evening and an appointment the following day. The technician was prompt and professional and had the repair made within an hour of his arrival. We also discussed some other potential areas of concern but he did not try to sell me on any additional services. It’s hard to rate price since I didn’t have time to get competing quotes but Clover’s price seemed reasonable, especially given the weather and the need to get the unit working again as quickly as possible. This is the second time I’ve used the company and I give them a very favorable recommendation."

"Bottom Line: This is the first time we have used this company, and they did excellent work for a reasonable price. Communication: Easily scheduled the estimate through Angie's List messenger service. For those of us with hectic schedules where text, messaging, or email works better than a phone call, this is a must-have service. Only 2 of the 6 companies from whom I requested estimates respected that despite being my stated communication preference. After the estimate phase, timely communication continued via email to schedule the actual work, and the technician called me 30 minutes before arriving. Although the work was not time sensitive, company was very responsive from start to finish. Quality of Work: Of the six companies I contacted, this was 1 of 2 offering a free on-site estimate. The on-site estimate turned out to be crucial as there were specifics about the existing main pump and the piping that were not immediately apparent with the companies preferring to do virtual estimates using photos I sent. In addition, this company did not attempt to upsell me, which had become an increasing problem with my standard plumbing company. The technician installed an owner purchased, battery-backup, WIFI-enabled sump pump including a W-fitting, associated piping, and check valves. Overall, it was excellent work, and he walked me through it at completion. Pricing: Although the price for this specific work was the highest of the 3 highly ranked Angie’s List companies providing estimates, the technician's obvious expertise, upfront and clear appraisal with no upselling, timely communications, and excellent work took the hassle out of this project and made it all worth it."
