Customers say: True professional

"Edgar has done everything from tearing down and rebuilding brick stoop walls and topping with new cement toppers, repointing brickwork on the main house to repairing a very high chimney on a terra cotta roof. He also followed us to our new home in a different county and did timely repairs and topped our stone chimney and acid washed the stone fireplace inside. He is very professional and polite, does great work at a fair price. "

Customers say: Quick response

"Kevin and his team are fantastic in every way! We have a 200+ year old farmhouse that needed all of the windows and the front door replaced. We met with several different companies and only Inspired was able to meet all of our needs. And, the price point was at or below our other quotes. Throughout the process, Kevin kept in touch, provided clear estimates and answered our questions. The installation team was equally professional. Having to take windows up and down 2 flights of winding stairs was nothing short of amazing! I can't begin to say how pleased we are with the final product and Inspired's team. I highly recommend them and will be calling them back for our next project. "

"Paddy's were excellent to work with. They were clear about the estimate, gave us an install date and came when they said. They were very efficient and clean around the work area. They stayed within our budget and got the job done without any fuss. I would recommend them for your house repairs."

"This was a big project that got bigger as it went along.  The brick on the house had been neglected for years before we purchased the house and there was a lot of brick work that was needed.  After talking with a number of people, including my neighbors and other people that were familiar with brick pointing, I quickly learned that this is something that needs to be done right.  There is no doubt that Andy is an expert on repointing and on the use of lime mortars. <br /> One of the surprises that was encountered during the job was that the reason for the tilted slates along the side of the house was there was an enormous tree root that went along the side of the house.  Certainly a surprise and the crew removed the root and kept moving forward.  We also didn't expect that all of the slates would have been in poor condition which is why we had to replace them with brick.  Andy and his team were very good at thinking on their feet and making good decisions when problems would arise.   <br /> The brick pointing went very well and the guys were careful.  It is a messy job but they really tried to keep the mess to a minimum.  I wiped down the window sills and we had professional window cleaners come in after the job and virtually all of the residues are gone.  Also, the group of workers is very solid and trustworthy.  A pleasure to have working on the house. <br /> One issue did happen and that was I thought that all of the necessary brick work was quoted at the start of the job but Andy later found that there was a large problem spot that he did not see when quoting the job.  We worked this out but was not something that I had expected.   <br /> Andy closely inspected the job near the end and found some areas that needed improvement which they took care of and went above and beyond what was originally expected.  A lot of this had to do with minimizing efflorescence and matching the mortar between the old and the new.  Andy is a perfectionist which is great asset when doing historic renovations.  I know that Andy has already demonstrated his standing behind his work (needed a minor touch up at a missed spot on the chimney and was quickly corrected) which is reassuring.   <br /> Andy and his crew are definitely my go to guys for any project involving masonry.    <br /> <br />"

"This is the second time we've hired John. He's responsive, punctual and very easy to work with. He cleans the work area daily and his work is impeccable. Before installation of the brick, he had to remove a Corian backsplash. This was his first brick backsplash and we couldn't be happier. In terms of cost, I couldn't tell you if he's high, low or average because he's' the only person I called. Also, the first time we hired him, about 4 years ago, he installed a porcelain tile floor which garners compliments all the time."

"George and his team did a great job replacing our front steps. The original foundation was crumbling, and they not only made them functional again, but gave them a beautiful new look with the additional of flagstone. They were also able to repurpose some of the original stone to match the rest of our house."

"Bennis is a local chimney repair company. Tim came out, inspected the chimney and a provided a very thorough estimate of the needed repairs. It was more detailed and accurate compared to the estimates from other companies. The price to do the work was very reasonable. They came a little bit ahead of schedule which worked out better for us. Felice took his time and did high quality repair work, including removing all debris and doing a thorough clean up when finished. I was very pleased with this repair service. total time to complete the work start to finish was about 2.5 hours."

"The work took place over a 3 day period to properly set the forms and allow the concrete to cure.  Bob Jermyn and his son worked this job through to the end and were very professional, despite having a lower price than the other bids I received.  They correctly delayed the start by a couple of days because of a bad weather forecast.  They cleaned up everything after the job and even helped me with advice on another project I was working on.  I would not hesitate to call Bob again and in fact I have already arranged for him to install a new gas fireplace.  I am a tough critic when it comes to contractors, but Bob gets my stamp of approval."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Oxford, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
