"The plumber arrived and spent 6 hours trouble shooting water heater problem on newly constructed home. He was good and identified problems and took action to correct, but could not fix water heater issue. He discovered there was not enough power, so he could not charge for his efforts as he did not fix it. He offered a $16 and some change monthly service plan to help with costs and I agreed, but he genuinely tried his best including replacing two heating elements. His company brought two electricians who were here for 1 hour and charged over $300 to report there was a break in the wire and did not repair. Next day the builder of the house brought his electrician for 30 minutes, made repairs finding 3 wires leading from breaker box, but only 2 leading to water heater. He diagnosed a junction box somewhere was embeded that the 3rd wire went to. The two remaining wires had been accidently crossed and were wired wrong to the water heater. He corrected that and was done in 30 minutes. "

"We added 26 solar panels to our home and wanted to go local when purchasing solar panels. When I did the research, most of the solar companies were located in Ohio. Andy Hardisty owns Simanton Mechanical, but it is under Ecofriendly Mechanical that he installs solar panels. Unfortunately Angie's List would not let me make the review under Ecofriendly Mechanical. Andy came out several times to find out where the best placement for solar panels would be. Usually they are on the south side of a house, but because our neighbors have huge trees that shade for our south side roof, the better location was on the east and west side of the home. He came out with his mechanical device on several occasions to see how the sun hit the roof to make sure that we would get the best performance from our solar panels. A lot of the solar companies provide panels that are like Christmas tree lights so that if one panel goes out, all of them do. Andy uses Enphase solar panels which have microinverters so each panel is a stand alone system. If one fails, it doesn't wipe out all the other panels. The enphase box is the size of a modem and is not a big clunky box that mounts on the exterior of the home. Andy placed ours in our laundry room and we can monitor energy production daily on our cell phone. Andy is also able to monitor our panels through his account and can see if there are any problems. Andy had a great crew of three do the work and he would supervise them. One of the installers was a roofer and we had gotten a new roof 4 years ago and were concerned that there might be some roofing problems after the installation of the solar panels, but there weren't. It took about 2 days to install all 26 panels and they did a fantastic job. Our neighbors got solar panels installed too and their panels are terribly mounted and crooked and installed where there is the least amount of sun and big trees overshadowing the home. We are so thrilled with our new solar panels, and his price was cheaper than other companies located in OH. Once again...super excellent quality work by Andy and his team! They didn't leave a mess and cleaned up after themselves. If we were to move...there would be no other company to install solar panels for us than with Ecofriendly Mechanical."

"Horrible! The workers did not show up each day until about 10am (or later) and would leave around 2-3 pm (and that’s including an hour for lunch) so not much progress on the house daily. I was told my house would be completed within 1-2 weeks, instead it was about 2 months. All that and we were left with a less than mediocre result. I honestly don’t think these people have ever installed vinyl siding before. I have had a lot of the siding fall off and I put back myself, all the top pieces of siding fell off at least once, they came and replaced but the pieces fell off again after they left. I realized they don’t even own the notching tool for the top row pieces (or even know it exists). I had to go purchase this tool, notch the pieces and reinstall myself. Also noticed some of the siding nails were drove in tight, you cannot do this with vinyl siding. It has to be able to move with the temperature changes (can’t wait to see what happens this winter). I still have 2-3 pieces that need replaced but they are at the highest point on my house at the peak (requires a man lift to access) and have been told by the owner several weeks ago they are coming back to fix it, I’m still here, holding my breath. This company might be ok at building a small deck or maybe some bird houses but if your looking for quality craftsmanship, as you should when it comes to your home, this isn’t it."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Paoli, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
