"When my electric garage door would not open I found A1 Garage Door on Angie's List. I called them at 5:45 p.m. and spoke to Mitch, telling him I had a car inside the garage and needed to get it out. To my great suprise he said he would come out within a couple of hours. He showed up one hour later and saw that my problem was a broken spring. He did not have the right size spring with him but helped me manually raise the door so we could get the car out. He came back the next day at 6:00 p.m., which was great for me since I didn't have to take time off from work, and replaced thedoor springs. Great customer service and good work at a fair price.

"Albert came to do our estimate last summer.  He was very knowledgeable and pleasant.  He was helpful in determining the best products for outdoor as well as the indoor projects that needed to be completed (deck, inside stairs, etc).  We decided to proceed a few weeks ago however Albert was not available (going out of town) which initially was concerning to my husband.  Albert assured me at his initial estimate that his crew was meticulous so I implored my husband to proceed with the project instead of delaying.  We are so happy that we did!  Elian came with the rest of the crew and worked tirelessly to smooth the walls, prime and paint.  They were able to repair a door which had been damaged from the elements making it look new and saving us lots of expense if it had to be replaced.  The weather would not cooperate and started raining from day one but the crew did their best in the elements without sacrificing the quality that Albert promised.  The project ended up going over the 2 days estimated (because of the weather) but we are very satisfied with the work that was done and plan on having Elian and the crew back to work on the outside deck and inside stairs this spring or summer!

"I called Russ to give me an estimate on built in bookshelves (est was $3000) and doors and shelf for an already existing shelf. Russ came on time when I made the 1st appt. We were having other work done to our house so I was trying to figure out what we were going to have done this year. I called Russ back 4 months later and he came back out to remeasure. He missed the 1st appt to remeasure but when I called back he came out. I was unsure about the built in shelves but wanted to do the have the doors and shelf made which he said would not be a problem. This was on a Tues. He said he would have it done by the end of the week so I called on Monday when I had not heard from him. This started at the end of May. He had another project but would put the doors in the truck and stop by when he had a few minutes. The next time I called he still need to paint the doors but it was too humid. Then after calling weekly for 6 weeks I asked if I need to find someone else to do it and he said his truck and all of his tools were stolen???? I provide this information b/c I got the run around."

"After the repair was done I noticed a leak in my bathroom ceiling where one of the roof vents were replaced. I called the Subcontractor Brian on a Saturday morning. The weather was cold and raining. He was at my house within the hour up on the roof and fixed the leak. I havent had any leaks since. I would hire Brain the Subcontractor again."

More recently, he figured out a way to build out the wall and install a french door on a previously open loft. "We engaged Clean Hands Painting to paint the exterior of our house in the summer of 2018. I was immediately impressed by Junior at our first meeting. He showed great attention to detail and gave us a very fair estimate. Junior and his co-worker, Ephraim, were meticulous and cleaned up after themselves at each step along the way. They were the cleanest painters we have ever had work on our house. They pressure cleaned the house, repainted the wood, the metal railing, outdoor shutters and the front door. They also cleaned and stained the deck, which required replacing several of the boards that had rotted away. They carefully sanded the areas around the windows and repainted them. Additionally, they worked around our schedule, which was a huge help for us. They were responsive to all our calls and texts. "Andre is a terric handyman and carpenter. He is professional, diligent, timely, and pays attention to detail. He has done several projects for us including building shelving units in a work shed, repairing a leaking shower, fixing huge holes in our ceiling and patching cracks to make the drywall seamless and brand new looking. He has rebuilt built-ins around a fireplace and cut granite to fit the shelving. He can do pretty much anything you ask him to. I highly recommend him for drywall repair, carpentry, cabinetry, and granite work."
