"Jim Ferrell has been to my home several times over the last couple of months. He has worked with PCs and laptops for me and my children. He is an awesome person to work with. He was so informative with knowledge and went the extra mile to try and help with any computer problems that I faced. He was always on time and willing to help at any time. I have called many times after hours and with his helpful remote computer connections I was able to get out of a bind with school on more than one occasion. Also, I would like to mention he is very resonable with his prices for computer repairs and will come to your home if needed. Thank you!!"

"I just purchased a door through them. So far it was very good, very professional. The only shock is how much the door cost. I just ordered a plan door and it costs $4500.00. They are very good, just expensive."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"Great.  Good job, responsive, priced appropriately.  They repaired all drywall that they had to cut holes in and cleaned up after themselves.  Every time I call them for something I get the same consistently good service."

"The garage door 'search,' purchase and installation took an entire day of non-stop work.  At least nine hours without a break for lunch.  Home Services - VA came from out of town to assist in this replacement and was intent on completing the project as quickly as possible.  Home Services - VA has vast and varied experience in home improvement and repair, it was very obvious to me. "

"Rosaly and Arquimedes are doing a fantastic job installing a basement kitchen, bath, and rec room.  He's an incredibly hard working and honest man who cares about the quality of his work and his attention to detail.  He's on time and is always open and flexible to any changes.  His prices can't be beat even after I vetted several other contractors.  He's very easy to work with and has great ideas.  His finishing work is beautiful and clean!!  You won't go wrong with Rosaly!

"Mr. Duran and his assistants arrived when promised and began work immediately. The wall itself looks great; you can't tell that railings had been removed and the walls repaired. The paint job is wonderful. Mr. Duran helped me pick out a different color for below the chair rail that I am very happy with. The molding looks like it has been in the house for 100 years. I had people over 2 days after the job was completed and was asked if I had used an interior designer because the paint colors go so well together. They also commented on how good the paint job was and didn't believe that the chair rail and molding had just been put in. Most importantly, Mr. Duran came by a couple of days later to tell me that the wiring in my house has not been updated since it was installed, and that I had the old-style cloth-covered, ungrounded wiring. An important safety fact that I was not aware of. He wasn't an alarmist to pressure me to hire him right away, which I also appreciated."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Piney-Point, MD

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
