"In 2022, I discovered my water heater was leaking. Alfred and Tobie arrived around 1:00 PM. After examining the water heater, they said the replacement would cost $2,425. They let me know that If I supplied the water heater, they could install it for approximately $700.00 - but it was obvious that I wasn’t in a position to pick up a water heater on my own. They returned with a Rheem (approx retail cost $750.00), which didn’t fit on the elevated base correctly - part of the heater now hangs over the edge. The job was completed in two and a half hours. When I calculated the costs of the job, I assigned $1,000.00 to parts and supplies, which left a $1,425.00 labor cost. For a two-and-half-hour job (which included the time spent picking up a water heater), the hourly labor cost was $570.00 for both Alfred & Tobie, or $285.00 an hour each. IMO, the costs were excessive and I felt that I was taken advantage of due to the situation. I contacted Bryco, but I never heard from them."

"Jim returned my call within 20 minutes of my leaving a message. He had availability the same day. He arrived, diagnosed the problem, corrected the problem and tested to assure that the clog had been cleared up. He also cleared and cleaned the bathtub and provided helpful tips on how to keep bathroom fixtures clean and free-flowing."

"Do not use this company for service or installation of your HVAC system. In San Antonio, use ANY OTHER company, there are plenty of much better options out there. Beyer Boys is a complete rip off! Simple repairs = astronomical costs!, company and technicians only interested in raking in $, and promoting annual service plan. Technician disingenuous. Customer service very slow to respond in answering questions about billing. This job was for a simple solenoid failure on the AC unit with a total cost of over $900! The basic 50mf/ 440v solenoid replacement cost $318. Also replaced were the hard start saver $317. and a “2 pole electric connector” at $291. Later after we finally got the itemized receipt (which required several calls to the company before any receipt was emailed), I looked up the cost of these parts. (to buy OEM parts for this unit, they would be less than $30, $135, and $15 respectively). I don't think the technician took enough time to explain the issue with the HVAC unit that needed repair. I think that he replaced more components than were needed to solve the problem. I also felt he was more interested in trying to sell me an annual maintenance plan than addressing the service issue at hand. He kept trying to sell me the annual maintenance plan. After he was working on the unit I asked him if the solenoid replacement alone would have fixed the unit and he said yes, but then also encouraged me to have the maintenance plan. He hinted again that we should have the annual maintenance plan, in saying that the coolant level was low “so the system might not cool as well as expected” That is actually not an issue at all with our HVAC. After the bill of $916.80 was paid for this very basic problem, which took less than one hour for the technician to fix, we never received a bill in the email. I had to call the company to request a bill. They finally emailed the bill, but it was not itemized at all, it just listed the items repaired and the total charge. I called again and requested that they please send me an itemized bill, including the parts cost and labor costs. This time I received an email with the costs as I stated above, but again no separation of parts and labor costs. I called again and asked to get the full b breakdown, but still have not heard back from them. The technicians behavior, the exorbitant charge, the failure to promptly send a receipt, and then once a receipt was received, the additional phone calls to get an itemized receipt, and also to request a breakdown parts vs. labor all makes this feel like a RIP OFF SCAM. If the exorbitantly high cost was the result of some sort of emergency labor fee or something like that I would understand that, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF TRANSPARANCY, I am left with the impression that this is a serious rip off, and deception in business practice. The behavior of the technician also made the service call feel deceptive, because of the focus on promoting the annual service plan. PICK ANOTHER HVAC SEFVICE COMPANY, there are plenty of options out there."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Pipe Creek, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
