"We had a severely reduced flow in our kitchen faucet. The plumber came out and removed some plastic debris (probably from something that broke in the pipe) and the flow was back to normal. The following day it was restricted again, but they came out the same day, and removed more debris for no charge, calling it warranty service. Impressed. Will call again."

"Parker's Plumbing technician was a fine example of how the company does business. Was prompt, very patient in explaining what he was doing and in and out just as fast. I will be asking for them again with any future projects. Five stars well deserved!"

"While performing two small repair jobs, they discovered a much more serious problem, a pipe leaking into the basement, which had been going on unnoticed for a long time. They were able to return the following day and make the repair. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, the quality of their work, and their pleasant dispositions. The jobs were done quickly and the cleanup was thorough. I will absolutely call Mayo Plumbing again if I have a problem, small or large."

"A half-hour after I used Home Advisor to learn what companies would be able to relocate a gas line for my dryer, a Rivers City employee called me to arrange an appointment. My Home Advisor search was at night, and the phone call was at night. A technician was at my house about 11am the following day, quoted me a price, and perfomed the work."

"Froggy's called me immediately after I submitted my request on Angi. We discussed the problem I was having, and they gave me several ideas to try to get my A/C unit running properly before actually coming to take a look. I ended up taking their suggestions - cleaning the unit and blowing out the drain line - which resolved the issue. I appreciate and respect a company willing to provide a few troubleshooting/DIY tips before being eager to charge a service fee. Will definitely call in the event I need help in the future."

"Chris was very polite and showed up when stated (although he rescheduled once, which was fine.) He did a good job. I actually have not seen the sump pump kick on yet, but I guess it works. The only reason I have any lower stars at all is due to the bill. The bill was for $975 and I still had to buy the back up battery for another $120. I was thinking the bill would be around $600. I have had a lot of work done on our house and all of the bills so far have come out to what I thought they would be AND every other person gave me some sort of estimate before doing the work so that I could decide. Chris mentioned no price at all. I know I should have asked, but I had been lulled into a sense of security with all of the other people we have hired ending up with prices that were what I was expecting. The actual work was done from 5:30 to 8PM, so 2.5 hours of work. This included a new sump pump, wiring to go to a battery that I had to purchase and the plumbing. The plumbing went straight up a wall and straight out. I tore out the drywall myself for him to get at the area to pipe. There was also some sort of alarm, He took out an old sump pump that was only a year old and worked but we needed one with a back up battery. I do not know whether it was in working order after he took it out. He took it, I guess. I was somewhat thinking I could sell it in the community garage sale. But he may have been being helpful to take it. I wish he had warned me of the price. If he charged us more to come at night, I wish he would have told me that. I would have made an effort to arrange my schedule to be here during the day. The bill did not itemize at all. It just had the price of $975. If you do not mind what you pay, he is a good resource. Thus, I put 'No' for a recommendation because I would state that he did a decent job, but was expensive and then let the person decide if that is OK."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Portage-des-sioux, MO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
