The only reason I have any lower stars at all is due to the bill. The bill was for $975 and I still had to buy the back up battery for another $120. I was thinking the bill would be around $600. I have had a lot of work done on our house and all of the bills so far have come out to what I thought they would be AND every other person gave me some sort of estimate before doing the work so that I could decide. Chris mentioned no price at all. I know I should have asked, but I had been lulled into a sense of security with all of the other people we have hired ending up with prices that were what I was expecting. The actual work was done from 5:30 to 8PM, so 2.5 hours of work. This included a new sump pump, wiring to go to a battery that I had to purchase and the plumbing. The plumbing went straight up a wall and straight out. I tore out the drywall myself for him to get at the area to pipe. There was also some sort of alarm, He took out an old sump pump that was only a year old and worked but we needed one with a back up battery. I do not know whether it was in working order after he took it out. He took it, I guess. I was somewhat thinking I could sell it in the community garage sale. But he may have been being helpful to take it. I wish he had warned me of the price. If he charged us more to come at night, I wish he would have told me that. I would have made an effort to arrange my schedule to be here during the day. The bill did not itemize at all. It just had the price of $975. If you do not mind what you pay, he is a good resource. Thus, I put 'No' for a recommendation because I would state that he did a decent job, but was expensive and then let the person decide if that is OK."
