"We had an issue with our AC unit where the power would kick on, and the air was blowing, but it was not cold. The business owner (Gilbert Overa) came out to inspect our HVAC unit himself. He confirmed that the issue was an ac coil leak and that we would need to replace that part of our HVAC system. He gave me a quote on the parts and labor that was about 75% of what another company wanted. He walked me through the issue, showed me where the leak was happening, walked me through why it couldn't just be repaired, where/when he was going to be able to find the replacement for my discontinued 11-year-old 4-ton Rheem HVAC unit, and how much replacing the coil assembly was going to cost me. Very reasonable pricing, very professional, his team came and fixed everything within 48 hours. AMAZING! Airmax is now officially my furnace, heating, cooling, air conditioning company. Thank you, Gilbert."

"Absolutely awesome! Repair service offered to arrive within one hour, I was unable to make that because I did not expect such quick service. AC back on same day with a temporary thermostat, full replacement with new thermostat, project completed the very next day. I am very pleased and impressed that things were taken care so quickly and professionally."

"My mom’s a/c stopped working right before a heat wave. I contacted Paul at Air Mechanical and he fit us in his schedule immediately. He had to order parts but came by after dark to make the repair so my mom didn’t have to suffer through 100 degree weather in her house. Great customer service! Very reasonable rates too."

"Abe came by to fix an issue with no power to our AC. Fixed the problem and found some flaws in our home builders design, which would have cost a lot to repair if not found in time. Abe is on time, and friendly! Highly recommend."

"The technician emptied the freezer, which was in the basement, to work on the part that needed repair. Then he neglected to put anything back into the freezer, including a turkey I had bought for Christmas and a rack of ribs. Two days after he left, I went out of town for two weeks. The turkey actually exploded and spewed its liquid all over everything, which had to be discarded. I let AHS know and they couldn't even bother to call me or follow up on this. I'm considering not renewing my contract with them because of the quality (or lack thereof) of many of the providers they send."

"The service rep was out the following day when we were having 3 digit heat. My a/c could be repaired but at the age and the "options" given me, I decided to replace the a/c. Service rep was very knowledgeable, professional and showed integrity. He worked O.T. to bring me a lg window a/c unit until mine comes in at no charge. Carol Berryman"

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Rincon, NM

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
