"Of the five businesses I contacted for estimates, I thought the Bonney installer gave me the most honest up-front estimate (although it was also the highest estimate). Some of the businesses would only give me over-the-phone low-ball estimates that were obviously just for the water heater itself, neglecting to mention the extra components that would be needed such as valves, strappings, expansion tank, and an electrical disconnect box, all required for the City permit. And only a couple of businesses, even one who came to the house, bothered to mention the required City permit. The Bonney installer showed up on time with all the required equipment. He removed the old tank and components, prepped the area for the new components, and completed the installation in about five hours. He also cleaned the area thoroughly when he was finished. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the results. It passed the City inspection. And I also think I got a better quality water heater brand which isn't available online or at discount big-box stores."

"After bad experiences with two other plumbing companies, Armstrong Plumbing really came through for us. We replaced two 50 gallon water heaters with one large tankless unit, in the "attic"! This job required new gas line and water pipes to be installed. Two other estimates for the job were 2-4 times as much as Armstrong. They coordinated all of the other professionals needed to get the job done as well as the inspection. All workers were polite and respectful... and it was HOT in the middle of the summer. "What: NOT Plumbing. Electrical wiring for/and installation of flood lights above garage door, side walkway to backyard, and backyard. Also installed porch light. Pros: On time, courteous Comments: Backyard floodlight was on all day & all night and on the same electrical source of the lights in the laundry room light and side walkway to backyard. The only way to turn it off was to turn off the electrical switch in the box, which turned off all 3 lights mentioned above. The flood lights were supposed to be on, with a timer, only during dark hours, but either it was on all night because they tied it to the laundry & walkway "wire" or electrical switch, OR they didn't put it on timer, or some other reason. They sent another team out to fix the issue within the next few weeks. Recommendation: Buy your own light fixture, inform YOU want to pick and have them install. Otherwise, they go with their own vendor and the alternative did not look anything like the style we wanted."
