Southland is a Mitsubishi diamond dealer so I got full Mitsubishi warranties plus 1 year from Southland of parts and service. The day the installers arrived, on time, it was raining. Jamie and Ricardo used the utmost care to protect my home. They covered the floors, moved and covered the furniture and made sure before they left that I fully understood how to use the remote and operate the equipment. "Emilio arrived on time on the appointed day, inspected and assessed the outdoor unit, the lines and the indoor unit, and determined they could do the job as Darrow had described. We also asked if they could install an attic fan, as that had never been done, and we hoped it would keep the top floor cooler. After a phone call with Darrow and checking his credentials online, we settled on a price of $4,650. A couple of days later, Emilio arrived with a helper, and Darrow arrived with the new equipment. They completed the work in one day, were very neat and respectful of the house and the outdoor space, took away the old equipment and even flattened the boxes for recycling. Settling up with Darrow was easy. It was a total pleasure to deal with Darrow Mirsky and his team. He has a personal style that is just like if your brother-in-law (the one you like!) had all this knowledge and was taking care of this for you. Did a good professional job removing and installing a new 50 gallon water heater. Mike also tested my water pressure and noted it was too high. For an agreed upon small additional charge he replaced my pressure regulator and a shut off valve."

"Never having had air vents cleaned before I was a little unsure of how it actually worked and have nothing to compare this to.  I liked B very much, he was very helpful on the phone and while he provided the service.  He offered good suggestions and tips.  He seemed very professional, arrived when he said he would and finished an hour or so sooner than he thought he would.  He was responsive to questions before during and after and seemed to know what he was doing.  He did spend some time in his truck talking on the phone but I did not feel it impacted the service he provided.
The amount of dust raised by this activity drove me out of the house for over an hour.  We all developed bloody noses over the next few days although I ran the ventilating fan for well over two hours.  I am assuming that this is a normal part of having vents vacuumed out with a giant hose but I was not prepared for it!  I don't think that this was the fault of the service provider but it would have been nice to know before hand which is why I am posting this here.
The price was high but not out of the range of what other providers quoted to me and seems to me to be appropriate given other quotes.  I give $$ a B only because 3 days after I had the work done there was a deal for the same work for about $300.

He thoroughly explained to me the importance of the duct work: location and size of the ducts to maximize the efficiency of the system that he was installing. Our home is an old home, and I really appreciate the care that he took in the installation process. I obtained 3 quotes for this job and West Tech Mechanical was in the middle. All the persons that came to our house were nice people.
