"Wonderful Service. Within minutes of selecting and messaging this company, we received a call from the owner. Never ever have had such an immediate response from any other service. Darrel immediately recognized the need for us to have water ASAP. He scheduled to come the next morning and was here bright and early. He assessed and fixed the problem immediately. Yeah! We have water again. He was wonderful, knowledgeable and tutored my husband on well services. He calmed our anxiety down by his thoroughness of what the issue was. We were anticipating a very very large service bill and we were pleasantly surprised that the cost was very reasonable!!! Brown Well Services is where we will go for any future issues. Thank Darrel for you expedient service response and your knowledge. You made this so easy and painless!!! We will definitely recommend Brown Well Services to others!!"

"Fantastic. Justin and his dad contacted me immediately and coordinated the whole process. They got parts within a day and installed around my family's schedule. They quoted an extremely fair price and did the whole job for that price including removal of the old system and full install and verified operation. Great family business!"

"We had no water coming from the well. Bret came out quickly and resolved the problem in a short period of time. He also helped us get a good understanding of how the system works and why we had the problem. The pump wasn't pumping because the 'pump saver' was doing it's job, protecting the well pump from pumping dry. Their calm and professional support was so helpful to reducing a stressful event. I highly recommend them for jobs big and small. Good people."

"Great. Troy S. was very responsive to my questions, explaining what need to be repaired, and had all the parts to replace the pipes and fittings. Cleaned the service area after completing the job. He also explained service options. The price was slightly higher than expected but worth it considering what needed to be repaired. If Troy S. is an example of their professionalism, then I would call Jon Wayne again for future service."

"Arrived at my Canyon Lake property to find my heat was on Aux Heat.....which says the main unit "has a problem". Thermostat read 56 degrees...a bit chill inside. I contacted Vetter for the assessment and they were "booked"......but found a way to get a technician out to our home. The bad news...compressor was grounded. The anticipated value of this repair forced me to call my home warranty company. Dealing with this company can be "challenging".......the short story is I insisted on Vetter handling this repair - as opposed to one of their network providers. Reason...because Vetter has consistently provided responsive and professional support every single time we have called over the past two years. Mike Vetter has a great team - from the ladies in the front office, to his vigilant dispatcher, to the seasoned  technicians who have visited our property. Excellent communication and follow up with the customer is a rare find these days. I am pleased to recommend the Vetter Air team.......I find them a "quality" HVAC provider.

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in San Antonio, TX

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
