"You need to know how amazing and professional Paul Walker and his team were, and how beautiful his craftsmanship is. Paul and team took a very neglected corner of our living room and made it the pride of our home. I trusted his advise to make the changes to bring our fireplace up to code and keep our family safe. He had great vision, listened to our ideas, presented fact based counterpoints and presented additional ways to complete our mantel in a way we had not considered. Ultimately, his vision was the right one (and we have strong opinions!). We now have a fireplace that is warm, welcoming, safe and such a delight to see each morning from our kitchen as we make our coffee. Paul was honest in his bid, was EXTREMELY fastidious throughout the efficient engagement, and his whole crew was so professional. You may get a lower bid, but there is no chance you will get a better value with no need to address any nit-based issues post work. That is *invaluable* in this day and age. I cannot more highly recommend Paul Walker and team and San Diego Fireplaces. This is a company of great integrity and workmanship. I am so pleased that we chose them. Paul, happy to provide direct references for those who ask."

"Jesus and his crew were awesome! Jesus especially was responsive and professional. He asked us questions to keep us involved and ensure we were getting what we wanted, but balanced that out well with professional suggestions and expertise. He was as punctual as any contractor I've ever dealt with, which was refreshing. It seemed important to JC Landworks to FINISH the job as quickly as they could after STARTING it, which helped us feel like valued customers, even though, I imagine, our project wasn't one of his highest-end. Drainage was a huge concern of mine given our hemmed-in backyard, but JC's crew used their laser levels to survey the grade and drainage is spot on. The results were fantastic and we've already recommended him to a friend of ours for their patio project."

"Travis and his team were very easy to work with. From the start he was able to build on our ideas to help with the design aspect and help turned our drab backyard into both pleasing to the eye as well as functional area for us to utilize. The paver designs were lovely and expertly installed and the plants selections were beautiful. I strongly recommend them as they are involved from start to finish of the entire project, including drafting up designs and HOA documents needed for community based projects. My wife and I will enjoy our backyard for years to come."

"I am very satisfied with the work River Rock Outscape performed. Their price was reasonable (not the lowest nor the highest bid I received) and they were helpful and professional throughout the entire job. They worked with me to accommodate new or modified requests as the project progressed, and everything came out looking fantastic. They also took the time to clean up each day before heading out, sweeping any dust or gravel, so that the impact to my neighbors and neighborhood was minimal. They also did a pavers job for my parents 6 years ago and their work from then still looks great."

"Mike and company arrived on time at 8 a.m. and were completely finished by 4 p.m. the same day. Mike and his crew were courteous and extremely neat and orderly. When they left, it looked like they had never been there except my new wall had been added. I am extremely pleased with their work. Their experience shows. And they matched the color of the existing wall perfectly. Bravo, Mike and crew!

"The project was large and took a long time to complete (6 weeks). However, we were less concerned about time and more focused on the work. In the end, everything was great! Not only does everything look nice, the work was well-done. Drainage is no longer an issue, and the whole process was painless. Dave was professional, walking us through each stage of the job. He also worked hard to keep costs down without sacrificing quality. Dave's men were punctual, courteous, and hard-working. Everyone was flexible given that changes were needed as the work progressed. Dave was able to coordinate the concrete work with that by other contractors so that in the end, the work was done on-schedule. Should we need any future concrete work, I would hire Dave Parker without any hesitation."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in San Diego, CA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
