"We have used InstaPlumbing a few times now. Our home is old, and the previous owners liked to fix things themselves, but they didn't know what they were doing, so InstaPlumbing has done everything from basic leaks to replacing fixtures and mixed matched, improperly pitched PVC and corroded meta pipes. They have always been straight forward about the work and cost. Customer service is excellent, from the office to the plumbers. They are very accommodating with scheduling. When we have had plumbing problems, like a major leak the night before Thanksgiving, they were ready to help. I highly recommend InstaPlumbing."

"I have worked with Mike Dunham on several plumbing projects, small to large. He is very knowledgeable, shows up when expected to and does great work at a reasonable price. I, along with my customers, have never had any issues with his work and I will continue to call him when needed as I get projects lined up."

"I rated them B for responsiveness because the first time I called I was told they would call back and they did not. As you would expect the price was too high. They ended up tightening a union of pipes and testing to see if it leaked. The first time it was tightened, it did leak and they went to replace the part. A second tech tightened it further, retested and it did not leak. Not sure why the first person didn't tighten further. So the question remains; is the problem solved. We will see when the heating season begins. The techs were young, personable and seemed knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions. They spent over two hours here, some of it waiting to get the heating up for testing. Had a $50.00 coupon or the cost would have been over $400."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Seymour, CT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
