"Still Services replaced my hot water tank. These people are amazing. Exceptional customer service. Quality of the work of the highest caliber. Matt and his team went above and beyond to ensure that I experienced maximum service with a minimum of inconvenience. "Shawn was professional and courteous on the phone.  I called him with a leak in my kitchen the day after Thanksgiving.  He called me back the same day and was flexible with scheduling even though I gave him a ridiculously small window of availability on my part.  He showed up on time (in fact he was 15 minutes early which was awesome).  He was friendly and informative and had a selection of faucets on his truck.  He fixed the sink within an hour of showing up.  I will definitely use Shawn in the future for any gas and plumbing needs. <br />"

"Excellent. I had another company (with whom i had a pervious interaction with) in to do this work, they did not clean the furnace, produced a false reading, TURNED off my gas (on a friday) and then said i needed to buy a new furnace. Don from Fontaine's Heating was over at my place within 2 hours, did the actual cleaning, produced a true (and safe CO reading) all for a little less than half the price of the first guy. Fontaine's saved my day. Flexible and quick, honest and proficient in thier work, and reasonably priced AND was represented by one of the nicest guys you could ever meet (Thank You Don)"

"I called and got a call back within the 24 hours states in the message. They were able to come out quickly and take care of all work that was possible to do. They came within the allotted 2 hour window and were polite and cleaned up after they were done. They fixed the toilet and made sure it worked properly, made an adjustment as well as installed the new sink and faucet. We have an old tub with a old style lead pipe that clogs quickly. They tried to do a few things to help but didn’t want to damage the pipe. They are the only plumbers that gave an alternative to cutting a hole in my living room ceiling that would ruin antique plaster work. They suggested going through an adjacent closet. I will be calling them in the future to replace tub drain pipe."

"My son had an emergency plumbing problem on Easter. I went on Angie's list and gave him 2 names of local plumbers. Kevin called and inspected the problem on Monday, got the supplies and returned to do the repair on Tuesday. He charged a very reasonable rate. I'm told Kevin is a very personable and professional young man who does great work. <br /> Certainly a number to keep on hand for plumbing problems"

"Don from Don's Plumbing has without exception been the most professional, articulate, fair, and compassionate plumber I've ever used. In addition to the plumbing he obviously needed to repair, I asked his advice on new appliances keeping in mind money is an issue. He was able to advise me what to purchase and installed them all for me. Everything Don has worked on in my home has worked perfectly. He responds to my calls within the same day. His work is exemplary as is his demeanor. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend him to anyone. I will never use another plumber after having Don work on my plumbing."

"Bottom line I got a 95% efficiency furnace installed on short notice on Christmas Eve . Problem was in the details, not what I discussed and I was not called to discuss the install or changes to my house that they would need to make to install a furnace I did not want. The bill was not itemized and a few other minor issues. Miscommunication! Get details in writing. An aggravating experience."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Westfield, MA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
