"I am getting ready for a new kitchen and am acting as an owner contractor, so needed a lot of little things done that a general contractor (like Mark) would normally oversee. Great communication with owner Mark prior to job; he made recs for other contractors I have hired. Day of, there was a little scheduling mix-up, but, soon remedied. Mark and Travis quickly pulled out my old cabinets in great shape so they can go to Rebuilding Center. Then after this was done, Travis took over for the rest of the weekend. He was organized, capable, efficient and thorough, checking with me frequently to make sure projects were meeting my expectations. Both he and Mark frequently said "We just want you to be happy" which is a position I sincerely wish everyone in my life would take! When things came up, as they invariably do, solutions were quickly found, with various outcomes clearly explained. When I originally outlined my project for Mark, he estimated that my do list would exceed the 16 hours I contracted for and this was indeed the case. I plan to finish this project with them. As a single woman, I sometimes feel patronized or, occasionally, have had contractors try to take advantage of my presumed ignorance. I never once felt that these two were anything but respectful, courteous, and desirous of meeting fully my expectations. I would not hesitate to hire them again. I wish my budget would have allowed me to let them manage the whole project!

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."

"We purchased a home and needed help with remodeling as well as designing our new home. Alma was amazing, she found all the contractors and ensured they did an excellent job on our flooring as well as a full kitchen and 3 bath remodel. On top of that she found all of our furniture and decorate everything within our budget. The process was seamless, stress free and done within the promised time frame. Highly recommended!"

"I had John come out and give me a estimate for a new roof on our home. He was 1 of 7 companies I had come out to my home and give estimates. Out of all of them he showed up 15 minutes early unlike a few that showed up late and did not even bother to call to let me know. I also had given them all the same paper with instructions on how we wanted our estimates give to us and how to break them down for us to see where we were going to be spending our money, and Mid-Valley was the only company to do this for us. john looked at our roof and took measurements and even took time to point out somethings on my front porch that we needed to fix when we fixed the roof over it. He took time to tell me about the products they used and even let me know that if we had any questions to call. I did tell him that my grandparents were going to be paying for this and would be here during the roofing time. He told me to let them know if they had any questions they may call him, and he would even come back out to talk to them if they would like once they got here. I also wanted to make sure that this roof could be put on during a  time frame that was only 2 weeks away from the time he came out for my estimate and John managed to be able to fit us in between jobs and our Oregon weather.
Once we deiced to go with Mid-Valley my grandfather took over and contacted John to set up a time to meet with him and go over everything. John came all the way back out to my home and did a walk through with my grandfather and explained to him everything that needed to be done. My grandparents were really impressed my him and felt he was really a great choice we made.  They agreed that 1 week after meeting and exactly 2 weeks after he showed up to do our estimate work would start and would take 2 days max.
The morning of the job start he showed up wit a van of guys already to work which was great to have a van and a truck instead of lots of trucks up and down our street making neighbors made. It made parking a lot easier since we also had family from out of state and out of town here at the same time. They all greeted us and went right up on the roof while John talked to us for a few moments before heading up to work on our roof to. It is nice to see the head guy working on the job right along with his crew. With in a few hours they had the whole back of my roof off and fixed the dry rot we had and had the new one being started while a few of the guys started on the front part and my skylights. it was a very cloudy day and as the finished the back up and had been working on the front part of the house, skylights and front porch which was the worst part of things the sky let loose. I watched as they just keep working and after about 15 minutes of downpour it stopped and work went on full force. Yep they got wet but kept it going. 
Even though they had to deal with the rain and even our windy day we had that day they were great and kept working. A job that was estimated at 2 days only took 1 day from start to finish. After the roof was done John came and took time to walk around with us and make sure things were done right. We did find a few things that were not totally done and he made sure they got done and even sent a few guys back to put some metal strips on my back porch that was not included in the job, because they seen that it did not have them and some of the singles that the people who roofed that roof before put where weather stripping should have been blew off. He asked if we would like him to do that for us and we told him that would be great. 
Oh ya forgot to tell you that during the whole roofing project my grandfather was us there asking all kinds of questions and taking pictures of the whole thing from tear off to the finished job. He wanted to make sure that I could see everything since I can not get up there to see it cause I am afraid of heights and wanted to know everything about my old and new roof.
I really think we made a great choice in Mid-Valley Building,LLC. I would recommend them to anyone who would be looking to have things done to their home. I would be happy to have them come back in the future and do more work for us and would most likely be the first company I would call on.

"I will start with the positive and then my feedback where improvement is needed based on my experience.
I am very  happy with my new backyard, the stone work is lovely and definitely an improvement and added value to this home. The overall job is good, I also have some lessons learned as well and things I settled for. The attention to some details and communication is not where it should be. Maybe that is a lesson learned for the company, customer service is as important as the actual work. If someone called me and asked should I hire Prestige for stone work, I would say yes but just as in any construction project look out for yourself, negotiate wisely, speak up, and monitor the project.
The crew ( sub contractors) that they hired to do the stone work did a wonderful job. They were prompt, pleasant to have around the property, and worked very hard. They built a raised patio, a separate circle patio with partial bench, walkways, and garden boxes on one side of the house. They clearly are very good with stone work. If I needed more stone work done I would want this crew back any time. The landscaping clearly is afterthought, my feeling is there should have been a separate crew, trained in landscaping sent out to do that part. Nothing against these guys but  their strength is in the stonework. Fortunately this was a very simple landscape plan.
* gravel was spread under the grass and flower beds. I was told it was for drainage. Truth if you ask me, there was extra gravel ordered they needed to get rid of it. Look up laying sod on the internet you do not see a layer of gravel listed anywhere.
*bark dust was laid down before plants were in so they had to dig bark up to put in plants later.
* side yard gravel path was to have base  bed liner under it. That did not happen , when I questioned it I was told no worries they will get it in. It never got in.
* chopped the lower half off of one of my hedges, I went back in after they were gone and spend about 3 hours trimming and cleaning it up.
* there was an agreement to put support boards along the lower portion of the back fence. this was missed and when I asked about it they did return and put a board on. But not a treated board as it should be, it appears to be  cedar boards perhaps  fence boards nailed along the bottom of the fence. I will be pulling this off and replacing it with a more professional looking and treated support for this fence.
* there was a separate crew who did the building of the fence along one side of the house. They did fine and the fence looks good, I will need to go over it with stain as it is raw cedar.
*attention was paid to cleanup, I have seen some reviews for some contractors where the consumer was left with a mess and Prestige workers were very careful about making sure they cleaned up after themselves.
* every worker who spent time here was polite and hardworking
* the stone work for the two patios, steps and walkways is lovely and well done
The sales process- I will say he took more time with me than another company that I looked at, and did not go with, because they would not even talk design without a check in hand and Prestige was willing to take the time up front.  One piece of feedback is perhaps a bit more  full disclosure in negotiation. When a customer negotiates the price they are talking like for like, not expecting that you are actually cutting out details or quality of product used to lower the price. So to the consumer just negotiate carefully, and be sure you are talking about the same finishes and or quality and you will be fine.
Prestige, your big opportunity for improvement. Communication and follow up. When a customer calls, or emails the office, sales person, or project manager please respond. Also a little more attention to quality in the details, you know the saying the devil is in the details.

"The days before Kevin arrived, we removed what we could from the adjoining family room and covered EVERYTHING remaining in plastic, including the family room carpet. Day 1: Upon arrival , Kevin laid down a generous amount of Ram Board over our wood flooring (which we left in place until the counter top was installed the next week). Kevin "manhandled" the removal, being careful not to damage the cabinets, but the backsplash was "jack hammered" out, drywall and all, where some cautious effort at the edges might have resulted in less new dry wall work. There were a few “oops” nicks by Kevin into the face-frames, molding, and cabinetry. Observing what was happening, I then assisted by using my own multitool to cut the grout through the existing dry wall along the corners of counter tops, cabinet lowers, and molding. He then determined the materials for the pot filler and dry wall, and made a run to Home Depot, where upon return he did the plumbing and back-plate support for the pot filler, and then cut, installed, and plastered the dry wall. The precision of dry wall outlet cuts, edges, and flatness was pretty rough. He was going to sand and plaster more on Day 2, but I did most of what was necessary, including filling up and sanding the “oops” nicks, between Day 1 and Day 2 because I was afraid of how much more dust was going to be released if Kevin did it. At Day 1 conclusion, Kevin bagged the debris and removed it, and the fixtures. I vacuumed. Kevin worked 8 hours on Day 1 and did not take a lunch break. Day 2: There was a mix up on the schedule, so Day 2 ended up being a few more days after the counter install than we had planned for. So, on Day 2 he stopped at Home Depot and picked up the needed plumbing supplies before arriving at the house. He was done by noon. He did some more clean up, and I vacuumed some more. He assured me that if there were any leaks at the water supply or plumbing, that he would come back and fix it under warranty. Summary- Kevin completed the job as we had agreed upon. The work was satisfactorily done (with some help from me) to meet the standards of the countertop installer. As the drywall was rough-in, I can't vouch for what a finished drywall surface would look like. Neither can I vouch for what his finished carpentry quality and workmanship might look like. My own contribution in all this was several hours of labor, and Kevin recognized this in the bill he presented to me for materials and the one additional hour of labor. I was disappointed about the confusion over when Day 2 would occur, because we had no usable kitchen sink for several days longer than we were planning for, but, this may have been my planning error to begin with."
