Joe was friendly, knowledgeable and his work was very impressive and clean. We were so happy with Tuscan, from start to finish, and would highly recommend them to our friends and family."

"I purchased a Big Deal for furnace and A/C tune up.  The service was scheduled right away after purchase.  Technician showed up on time and was very professional.  He was even careful to protect our carpets by wearing shoe covers.  He said he was not able to perform an assessment of the A/C charge due to the cold temperatures, however performed all other services requested.  He did a thorough assessment of our HVAC and determined a lot of repairs were needed and/or replacement would be necessary.  The quoted prices for repairs and replacement of our furnace are a bit high compared to other quotes we have since received.  Otherwise, the technician was knowledgeable and very thorough and professional."

"Nick our installer arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous. He worked fast and carted off the dead water heater and installed the new one. He showed us how to start the pilot light in case we needed to do it in the future. He made sure to take all the trash with him. I had called the day before to get an estimate and they were able to schedule us in right away. This company had the better price and warranty from the others I asked for prices. Abbey from the office was also very friendly and quick to send me a written estimate. There were no hidden fees and I paid exactly what they said it would be. Nick's friendliness and professionalism was icing on the cake."

"We were given an arrival time from noon-3:00 p.m.  The technician arrived promptly at noon and gave us an estimate based on the number of air returns and registers.  We had purchased a package at $189 for cleaning of 10 registers, the furnace, and two returns.  Since we had a few more returns, this bumped the price up to $220.

I have to say that this was well worth the price because it appears that the registers and returns have never been cleaned in the 50 years since the house was built.  The technician was pulling arm fulls of junk out of the registers.  He was very good at explaining why the furnace filters needed to be changed regularly, and how often the ducts should be cleaned.  We would definitely use this provider again and would recommend them to others.

"It went well. It's just that the guy was kind of stubborn and wouldn't listen to us. When he was taking the toilet out, we just kept asking him to wrap the bottom in a trash bag. He was going, "Oh, it's fine. It's not going to leak. It's not going to leak." We kept giving him trash bag saying, "Please." He just ignored the trash bag and took it out to the curb and it just leaked toilet water all throughout the house. It was just him, his attitude. We kept trying to tell him to do it and he wouldn't listen. He goes, "I do this all the time. It's not going to leak." And then, when it leaked all over he is going, "Oh, that's clean water anyways. That's clean water." It was coming from the bottom of the toilet and you can't clean that part. It was $200 for the toilet, installing it and price of the toilet. He said it was additional $60 or $70 to install the water shut off valve. I thought the toilet was okay but the valve was over priced. He showed up on time."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Watkins, CO

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
