"Customer service was absolutely amazing. My technician, Armando, was very knowledgeable and gave me options to choose from for the projects I needed to have done. He called before heading my way and was here when he said he would be. Went straight to work and got the job done. Highly recommend Blue Planet Plumbing. "

Small jobs welcome

"Boone installed a new gas line and indoor shut-off valve for my fireplace. He quoted a fair and competitive price and saved me quite a bit of money. Boone arrived promptly explained everything he needed to do and set to immediately to work. He was so polite, personable and conscientious. He took the time to show me how to operate the fireplace and ensured I was aware of all safety protocol. I highly recommend Mil-Spec Gas works!"

"The technician came out after hours and got our unit up and running in about 40 minutes. I knew there would be a higher charge for coming out after hours. I called around to other companies in the area to see what they charge for the same service since we thought ours was way overpriced. We found out that we had been significantly over charged. There was a charge of a $148 for them to show up after hours. $40 part plus $10 filter. Cost and labor including the parts was an additional $250! We ended up spending over $400 for a $40 dollar part and 40 minute repair job. Other companies would have been in the ball park of $200. We had used this company in the past but could not remember their name. We accidentally used them again because of an emergency. We were out of town so I could not access my files. We were overcharged significantly by this company 2 years ago and did not want to use them again. I would definitely check around and price compare so you will not be burned with the pricing as well."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Weaverville, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
