"we had a water pipe in our attic spring a leak, which had water to house shut off to contain.  We called Haynes and they committed to send someone between 2 and 4, but were hopeful they could get someone earlier. <br /> Lawrence arrived a little before noon, diagnosed the problem, went to get parts, and had us back with water service in short order.  <br /> Great response on short notice and we appreciate the timely service and good price <br />"

"The jobs went very well. They showed up on time for both efforts, did the work, and cleaned up behind themselves. They treated us very well. The installers and service technicians were clean, courteous, and seemed very competent. On the day the heating/AC system was to be installed, they discovered they could not have the required AC compressor, so rather than delay us getting our system working, they upgraded the system (at no cost to us) to include a high-efficiency heat pump installed in a dual-fuel configuration with the high-efficiency, condensing gas furnace. The system runs as a heat pump down to 40 degrees F and then the gas furnace kicks in and the heat pump is not used at low temperatures where it is not really efficient. We also purchase an upgraded warranty to 10 years (parts and labor) which was a very good decision. It already paid for itself when the plastic condenser housing broke in the furnace. They came and replaced the part with a newer version from the manufacturer, at no cost to us, and repaired the rust damage caused by the leaking housing. We are very happy with the system and have contracted with them to continue yearly service. The reason I did not score and quot;Qualityand quot; as excellent was the premature failure of the furnace part, which I think was a manufacturer's issue. The quality of Tommy Garner company's work was great. We would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"We originally called Cassidy's because of the broken outside water spigot --- we had seen water dripping ont he back of the house and dsicovered a large crack in the base of the spigot.  Because Cassidy's is thorough and inspects EVERYTHING, in their inspection of the piping, they discovered a leak and water damage in our crawl space.  Thankfully, it was discovered early (no wood rot) and they were able to trace the cause to the kitchen drainpipe (corroded).  We have used Cassidy's many times over the past 3 years and have been happy with their service and prices. <br />"

"The work and the professional manner in which it was performed was excellent! Eric, Tanner and Lyle did an outstanding job. The crew was very knowledgeable, polite and clean. We have been using Bremac since 1990 and have always been very pleased with their service. Our last heat pump lasted 22 years because we purchased a service agreement that has Bremac come out in the winter and summer to check and service the heat pump and furnace. It is well worth it! Thanks Bremac!"

"As usual, the technician was on time--I was given plenty of notice--and he arrived within the window I had specified.  He found the problem with  my downstairs unit, which he was able to fix that day.  Later, he came back to finish my semi-annual inspection.  My downstairs unit is under my stairs and very difficult to reach; as a result, I am unable to check it regularly.  During his inspection, he found an overflow which would have saturated the beams under my house if it had continued.  He cleared the drainage pipes in both my upstairs and downstairs and prevented me from having a service call shortly thereafter.  This company has always been prompt and professional. <br />"

"Williamburg Heating and AC arrived at 8:30 am on the scheduled date of the work. They had four technicians to perform the required work. Two worked outside on the heat pump and condenser and the other two on the inside air handler. The new system was completely installed and working at approximately 5:30 pm. All of the repair technicians were friendly and professional and removed the old heat pump system and all trash prior to competing the job. Did have an issue when we first attempted to turn on the heat approximately 2 months after the work was done. Heat would not come on. A call to Williamsburg Heating and AC at approximately 6:00 pm on a Friday evening was answered by an answering service and a return call to me from a technician was received within 2 minutes. Technician arrived, as agreed, the following morning and found that the thermostat was setup to work with gas heat not electric as we had. Problem was corrected immediately and all systems are working fine."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Williamsburg, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
