"We've had Weld and Sons out twice to replace two different corroded pipes. (The pipes were so corroded inside that the sinks were backing up). Both times they were courteous and easy to book. They showed up on time. They did a great job with the repair and charged a reasonable rate compared to the other estimates we got. They put tarps down before working so my place didn't become a mess. I've hired them twice and would gladly hire them a third time."

"We accidently turned off the gas instead of the water when we were replacing a washer in the bathroom sink. We were worried about the gas water heater after the gas was back on and called 3 plumbers. Kok answered and made arrangements to come over in an hour. He came, checked the water heater and didn't charge for the call. <br /> <br />"

"Ryan came out the first time and of course, no sewer gas smell, so he arranged to have someone out with a drain camera to see if they could find the clog and the crack. The man came out with the special camera and found that there was a crack in our pipe, under our cement floor. This was a separate charge. <br /> After we found the clog we were ready to start digging up the concrete to fix it.  Unfortunately and unknown to us, our floor had original tiles which were asbestos.  Ryan made some phone calls and got an abatement company to come out and remove the tiles the next day. <strong> BTW</strong>, my house still smells from this removal, be sure and ask the abatement company about smells you could get from the tile removal. If it hadn't been nice that week and we could keep the windows open I don't think I could have stayed here until the smell went away. This was also a separate charge.  <br /> Once the tiles were removed Ryan came back the next day and started in on the floor.  He found the crack in the pipe and also found the rest of the pipe to be bad and had a 'dip' in the pipe, hence water would sit in pipe and over the years would corrode it.  He did a lot of work and opened up a trench to replace the old pipe with new and confirmed it was sitting at the proper angle to drain.  Then he arranged for a cement person to come in and cement the trench back up and make it all right again.  This was included in his price. <br /> When he was done he cleaned up the area, which was a real mess, and put the old cement chunks out in the driveway for his cement guy to pick up when he came to do the cement work. <br /> I found Ryan to be very professional and knowledgeable, explained things to us as he went along so we knew more of what we could expect once he found the problems. <br />"

"I called Dave at 7:31am because my sump pump was making a very loud noise. We determined over the phone that the pump probably needed to be replaced. Dave was able to come out to my house with a new pump at a determined time in the afternoon. He reviewed the situation and determined that my old pump could probably keep working, but should probably be replaced soon anyway because it was old and corroded. I went ahead and had him replace it, which I was glad for. He had to fashion a pipe fitting and cut some pipe to make the new one fit. The new one is also of material that should not corrode and has much more power. He was quick in his work and pleasant through the process. He explained what he was doing and how I could do it again if necessary. When he was done, he asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at before he left. After he left, he called back because he thought he had left a piece of Styrofoam from the new pump's box on the floor and wanted to make sure no one tripped on it. Very conscientious. Price was VERY reasonable. Will definitely refer and use him again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Burnsville, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
