"Given an estimate for two people at $120 hour for four hours $500 with a 10% military discount $450. Heater came in on a Friday installed following Tuesday. Got one Person for 1.5 hours of labor with my help and still charged the $450. Company had to come back and cover pipes, leak test and check flame quality. If you receive a hourly labor rate ask if it will be billed as an overall job. I was under the impression it was going to be at the hourly labor rate. if it comes back as a job then it can take and hour or seven but the job rate will cover that."

"Our technician Brad was amazing! He had us up and running within 20 minutes. He also told me we had a gas leak. His hand held sensor was buzzing and it was near our kitchen stove. He was kind enough to shut off the propane tanks until we could get someone in here to check the leak."

"Called Tony Hogue to get an estimate on getting a propane tank installed. <br>In my situation since I already have natural gas coming to my home and I just wanted this for our grill and fire-pit; he suggested trying to first see if I can convert those appliances over to natural gas. He even gave me the name of a good plumber he trusts to do the work of piping into my existing natural gas. He pointed out that I would save money that way since I already pay for the distribution fees of my natural gas. <br>I was blown away by his honesty and the fact that he didn't even try to sell me on his product....which he could have! <br>True family business and they obviously have their priorities straight. Hard to find these days"

"Two years ago we had Lee install a gas line and gas stove when we were renovating our kitchen. He was extremely professional, efficient and punctual. At that time, we asked for a quote for replacing our hot water heater. He gave us the quote, but we decided to wait until several projects were completed. Two years later I called him back and mentioned the quote he had given us. He said he would honor that old quote. We wanted a gas hot water heater that had a longer 10 year warranty because they have a reputation for having better materials and manufacturing. He said he would have to special order that model, that it would take about a week to arrive, and we could set an installation date for the following week. He arrived exactly on time, installation went without a hitch, with no mess and no fuss. We also used him between these two jobs to service our gas log. He was here an hour after I called to service the gas log. Nothing beats professionalism and reliability. <br />"

"The techs showed up right on time and were friendly and professional. The toilet they were working on had had the seal replaced when we bought the house four years ago so the tech was surprised it was already leaking. After working on the toilet for a few minutes, they called me in to explain that the flange came up too high from the floor. He said they could cut the pipe to fix that issue, but that it would be much more expensive. Instead, we decided to use shims to make up for the height issue. They finished work on the toilet and then quickly fixed the sink pipe. I was originally quoted $175 for both repairs, but because the pipe was so corroded, it needed to be replaced (not just cleaned), thus resulting in a slightly higher cost. I could easily see the corrosion on the outside of the pipe, so I wasn't surprised and thought the price was still reasonable for both repairs. I would definitely call this company again for help!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Henrico, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
