"Amazing contractor. Best I have ever dealt with. We went thru an entire demo and rebuild. They did the rebuild portion. The work is A+. The owner always got back to me by text- every message. His crew is polite and professional. They are true contractors. Everyday, no matter how late they stayed always cleaned up the workspace. The saying of you get what you pay for really applies here. The best money ever spent. Even after the job and the owner had his full payment- he gets back to me. A+++++"

"They are weak in trouble shooting and providing clear recommendations due to which we incurred significant costs. It’s sad to give your business to a company wherein you spend $2000 on a repair only to be told 72 hours later you need to replace the entire furnace. No appreciation for customer loyalty or that during COVID some refund should have been provided. Instead they did not take any ownership for it. Furnace was only 13 yrs old and they did the maintainence on it for 10 of those years. We lost our heating one say and they suggested the furnace required a new inducer and mother board for $2000. We went with that repair only to find out 72 hours later our heating stopped again abs this time it was found our heat exchanger was leaking water. Anyway nothing good comes out of taking undue advantage of people. The lesson here is try to find a company that has expertise in your brand of furnace. We later researched and found out our furnace was known to have heat exchanger issues. This company only has knowledge on the brand of furnace they install. Everything is else you as the customer do at risk as they will not take any accountability of their repairs don’t work. I have never come across a company like this one."

"First, I posted a photo of my invoice to prove that they did work with me because I noticed they were claiming otherwise to discredit other people's reviews. I would never recommend Big Apple. Do not sign a contract with this company. This is the first negative review I've ever posted about anything because I usually feel too sorry to do so. In this case, I feel morally obligated to. This is a long, detailed review but I urge you to read through so you don't go through what I did. I got a new boiler installed in the summer which came with a yearlong warrantee for repairs. It broke this winter and when I requested to schedule times for repair, I was either made to wait all day or had to work my schedule around theirs or not receive service. I was literally told "take it or leave it" when I asked if they could come at a different time to consider my work schedule. One major repair took three days (machine parts were replaced and they had to drain my heaters). This month, it stopped working again. This is in the dead of winter. It was extremely cold so I called for a repair. They said they'd arrive the following day. I checked in throughout the day and was told they were on their way. They never arrived and never called me to let me know. Their office closed and I couldn't reach anyone. I cancelled all my plans hoping they'd show up at night and was so cold and worried that my pipes would burst. The next morning, my father had to go to the office in person to urge them to check. I missed another day of work to wait for the repair since they wouldn't schedule a time for me. When they came, they realized the thermostat was loose and I just needed to get a new one. I was relieved it was an easy fix and replaced it myself. 2 weeks later, I received a mailed invoice for the visit claiming I had told them someone else broke the thermostat and touched the boiler (I did not tell them this. The thermostat was just old.) and therefore the service was not covered. Keep in mind, they were asking me to pay $163 for a visit that I had to resolve on my own which should normally be covered under the warrantee which was for a $17,000 purchase. When I called to refute it, the representative scolded me, and threatened to void the warrantee if I did not pay it. I am afraid to ever call them for any services. I am paying them out of fear because they know where I live. If there is an issue in the future, I will have to call another company because warrantee or not, the stress and paranoia that comes with Big Apple is not worth it."

"The office staff is unresponsive, difficult to work either, and overall unpleasant. It?s unfortunate because the technicians are talented. I had a new furnace & AC installed flawlessly. Getting permits, tax & rebate information was a nightmare! I don?t recommend hiring. I also requested a hot water replacement estimate 6 weeks ago- nothing received. Customer service horrible."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Allamuchy, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
