"These guys turned the entire upstairs from unusable to comfortable. And, they made the upstairs and downstairs more energy efficient. When we started, I had a few doubts that it would be worth the investment. I'm writing this review more than a year after the work was completed... so we've been through all seasons. IT IS WORTH THE INVESTMENT. Not only is the upstairs now great (it was previously unusable due to improper insulation and other builder gaps... terribly hot in summer and uncomfortable in winter), but our electric bill is lower. In summer, what used to be a $500 utility bill is now more like a $300 utility bill. Incredible attention to detail, these guys are experts in their field. They do quality work, no shortcuts. They're serious about making meaningful changes that yield a return. Our family is feeling the difference in our house and in our wallet year round. We appreciate a job well done and would absolutely use this company again. (Note that there were some TVA eScore benefits available at the time our work was done, so that helped offset the cost a bit.)"

"ought a Lennox A/C system (through COSTCO) and Mitch Wright, Plumbing, Heating, & Air was the contractor assigned. I delayed posting review to allow time to correct “mistakes”, but they have done nothing. Mitch Wright sent a salesman out who was not on time for the first visit, so a second visit was required. He wasn't on time for the second visit either. He wrote me a quote for 16 & 18 SEER system, but the major systems stated “Model and efficiencies may vary”. I told the salesman I needed a quote with model numbers, and if I pay for a 16 or 18 SEER2 system, I expect to get a 16 or 18 SEER2 system. He provided an updated quote and assured me I would receive the efficiency I ordered. I accepted the offer. I told him I expect model numbers to match on install day. Mitch Wright installed different models of equipment (outdoor A/C unit, furnace, and thermostat). When I informed installers about the error with the outside A/C unit, they claimed it was an upgrade. When I informed the salesman of the error, he told me not to look at the ENERGY GUIDE and that they shouldn’t add those because they don’t mean anything. I told him the model number was wrong, and he brushed me off, telling me to contact someone else. I bought a low-NOx furnace ML180UH090XE48BK, but Mitch Wright decided to install a standard furnace ML180UH090E48BK. No idea the cost difference, but generally, low NOX costs more and is better for air. I am up in the middle of the night because the furnace exhaust through the roof is leaking due to the poor craftsmanship of Mitch Wright Installers. Their sloppy installation is damaging my property! I cleaned up water after discovering a leak to prevent further property damage and placed towels to catch rain that drips through. The furnace has new code flashing. The installers did not properly seal the air handler, and condensation formed at the air leaks. Water leaked all around the air handler and into the furnace. I had to seal the air handler that evening to prevent (further) water damage to the furnace. All the duct connections to the air handler were leaking air and causing condensation as well, requiring me to fix them. Air was leaking at the connection on the inlet side just past the air handler, sending unfiltered air into the blower. The furnace developed a fault code on the same day as installation. This all occurred on Thursday, June 26 2025. Mitch Wright has done nothing to correct their “mistake”. All they did was send this email: “I do apologize for the mishap between EL16KC1-047 and the EL16KC1-048. We are actively looking into the situation to provide a resolution to you and your home. We are currently discussing the differences between the 047 and the 048 model that you received. In the past, Lennox has substituted both of these models out due to product availability. As of right now the response we have received from Lennox is that the 047 model was created to hit different targets, within different market requirements. Our marketing standard is the 048 model. We wanted to contact you before the weekend to assure you that we are working on it. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call our office or email us back. Thank you for trusting us with this matter.” Don’t trust these people with your home! Look at the Yelp reviews; they offer another perspective of this company."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Arlington, TN

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
