"We had previously worked with Energy Monster on a Mass Save audit and then adding insulation to our house. This time, we had the guys from Energy Monster back again to perform an electrical upgrade on our house (100 to 200 amps) and then install five ductless mini-splits for more efficient heating/cooling than our ancient terrible radiators. "The first step is a safety measure - inspect the furnace and make certain the carbon monoxide levels are at safe levels.  They insert a flexible door in your front door - it has a large exhaust fan in the bottom.  The fan is used to detect leaks.  We have a post and beam and they found leaks on the exterior walls were the posts meet the beams - they caulked the first floor.  They also found gaps where the drywall had pulled away from the beams - they caulked these.  We already had compact florescent bulbs - otherwise they would have installed.  They cover all of the force hot air vents and then test for leaks using another blower fan.  Then they sealed joints in the basement and retested and demonstrated reduced leakage in the basement.  At the end of the visit they turned on the front door blower and took another measurement demonstrating the reduction in leakage.  I received a copy of their report via email in approximately 2 weeks.  First floor felt warmer after the audit and the basement was colder as the ducts were not leaking hot air. <br /> The company provides certificates to share with friends and neighbors.  For each friend that uses their service - you get $25.00 back.  Just so happened that a friend requested their service the week when this rebate went up to $50.00.  I received a rebate check about 3 weeks later. <br />"
